Alright,
Welcome everyone.
Now,
I'm sure that we can all relate to the experience of ungrounding,
Where the mind is caught up in the high-paced demand of the outer world and of course the symptoms that follow that of stress,
Anxiety,
Fear,
Worry,
Insomnia,
Uncertainty.
So today,
I'm offering a sweet meditation that will re-anchor us into our personal earth,
Where we are connected to the physical body,
Connected to ourselves,
To the quality of our presence,
And connected to Mother Earth,
As we infuse Mother Earth into the body and the mind.
Now,
For those of you that I haven't yet met,
I'm April,
And over the last 20 years I have been devoted to a yogic lifestyle.
My greater intention is to support the collective consciousness and in turn to support those on their yogic journey as they navigate consciousness as well.
Now,
As humans,
Developing our roots,
Developing our foundation is most valuable in our lives and in our practice,
And it's actually necessary.
It's necessary that we develop our roots and our foundation for our health,
For our mental health,
Mental equanimity,
But also we need to develop those roots before we can access the balance and the gifts of the other elements.
This is kind of the nature of being human.
So,
We'll move into our meditation.
Find a comfortable seat of choice,
Whether it's cross-legged,
Kneeling,
Legs long,
Against a wall,
With props,
Without props,
Really whatever works well for you.
We can rest our hands down.
Let's place the palms onto the thighs or your lap,
Depending on your seated position,
And invite your eyes to close down here.
Drift your awareness within and soften into the experience of your physical body,
Inviting the sit bones to root down evenly,
And then from the base,
The spine is long.
Gentle lift through the heart space as the shoulders roll back and down.
Soften your facial expression,
Quiet your inner gaze,
Quiet the crown of the head,
And then allow your awareness,
Your focus to drift down,
Back to the base of your body,
Down to your seat as it meets the earth,
And down to the base of your spine.
And from the base of the spine,
From your seat,
From all of the portions of your body that are in contact with the earth,
Begin to visualize yourself grow roots.
So from the base of the body,
Your hearty roots extend deep into Mother Earth.
And within these roots,
An energy of balanced weight as your roots widen,
They spread beneath you and extend into the nutrients,
Into the minerals,
Into the soil and the clay.
As this extension of grounded energy begins to weigh down the mind,
It weighs down the rapid fluctuations of thought so you can return back to that sense of home,
Even weighing down any excess energy in the third eye,
The yajna chakra.
Just continue to grow your roots.
And then dissolve that visualization,
But maintain those qualities within yourself.
Soft inhale through the nose and out the mouth.
And here we'll gently open the eyes.
So this is a very sweet meditation,
Effective meditation to anchor the mind,
Provide some weight for the mind to bring it down from those fluctuations and the stimulation of the outer world.
Please let me know how it went for you in the comments below.
You're welcome to do this meditation for a longer period of time,
But just so we can have a taste together,
We did it for that amount.
So I hope to see you all soon and we'll come back together for some more elemental wisdom.
Namaskar.
