The Wizard Of Oz. 9 & 10: The Queen Of The Field Mice

In the latest chapter of L Frank Baum's beloved story, after the Tin Woodman saves the life of a mouse who turns out to be the Queen of the field mice, all the mice join together to help pull the Cowardly Lion out of the poppy field. The travelers journey on and reach the outskirts of the Emerald City.

L Frank Baum openly admitted to being influenced by Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass. If you're enjoying The Wizard of Oz, you will definitely enjoy these stories too, both narrated by me on Insight Timer.

This story is a strange one! It saved the mouse by killing the cat - that was pretty violent! The tin man shows compassion for one animal but not another?? Anyway, it’s just a story, and I appreciate your high squeaky voice for the mice. Another anomaly I hadn’t noticed before is that all creatures talk except Toto.
