We've reached chapter seven of Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel about the jazz age. This chapter, in which matters finally come to a head, forms the heart of the narrative and is several times longer than any of the other chapters. I've therefore recorded it in three parts - but will release each of these just a few days apart. In this first part of the chapter, which takes place on a boiling hot day, Daisy invites everyone to lunch. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. To listen to all the chapters seamlessly, please look for the Great Gatsby playlist. Music by William King.
