Ground and slow down for this 10 minute meditation. Return to yourself, your breath, your body. You will ground into the earth and centre yourself. Create stability. Cultivate your inner strength. Feed the energy and life force within you.

Welcome to today's grounding meditation.

Please just get comfortable in a seated position,

Whether that's sitting on the ground or sitting in a chair,

But make sure part of you is touching the ground,

Either your feet or your seat.

Touch the ground,

Root to the ground with a part of your body and make sure your body is supported.

So if you need any cushions to sit up,

Any cushions behind your back or underneath you,

Be kind to yourself and make sure your body feels good.

And as you begin to come into stillness,

Adjust as much as you need and begin to notice your breath as it is naturally.

And notice how your breath moves your body.

Notice it moving your chest,

Your belly,

Your ribs,

Maybe your shoulders,

How it feels going into your body,

The coolness of the air,

And then warmth on the way out.

And just be with this awareness for a few rounds of breath.

You don't need to change the way you're breathing,

Just being aware of how your breath is naturally.

And as you reach the end of a few cycles of breath,

Continue just breathing normally.

And now we're going to concentrate on our connection to the earth.

So first,

Just feel gravity connecting you to the earth.

Feel the weight of your body.

Feel the weight of your seat or your sweet feet.

Feel where you're touching the ground.

And then feel the weight of your whole body,

All of it.

And feel again gravity connecting you,

Holding you.

Let gravity hold you and connect you to the earth.

Let gravity do the work.

And then take your attention back from the whole body to the places of connection with the earth.

And when you do,

Imagine that your feet or where you're sitting,

There are roots that begin to grow from your body into the land,

Into the earth's surface.

They begin to root down further and further,

Creating an incredible stability.

And these roots are alive.

They're moving.

You continue to have freedom of movement,

But you are secure.

You are held.

And from the earth,

Through your roots,

There's energy that is flowing to you and your body from Mother Earth.

And feel how this energy feels.

It is light and warm,

Energizing,

Buoyant,

Rich and deep.

You are one with Mother Earth.

You are grounded and held.

You have this foundation at all times.

And from there,

Take one deep breath and feel again just this warmth,

This vitality,

This strength within you.

And then begin to call your roots back within you,

Collecting even more of this powerful energy into your being.

And feeling yourself all filled up with this peace,

With this calm,

With this force.

And notice your breath now with this new wave of energy within.

Notice how your breath is moving your body naturally,

How gravity is holding you to the earth,

Connecting you with the land.

And you can slowly begin to come back.

You can feel the weight now of your whole body.

Feel yourself within the room,

Within your environment.

You can slowly begin to open your eyes and carry this rich,

Peaceful calmness,

This foundation with you into the rest of your day.
