This is about mastery.
Over your money,
Your mind and yourself.
Have you ever achieved something you desperately wanted?
And being surprised by how quickly it became normal.
Maybe it was a certain income,
A physique,
A relationship,
A job.
Qualification.
Something you bought.
Before you had it,
You thought.
When I get there,
I'll finally feel successful.
Then you got there.
There's a temporary high,
And eventually your brain says,
OK,
What's next?
There's a psychological reason for this.
Human beings adapt.
Something that once felt extraordinary gradually becomes part of your normal environment.
That adaptation is useful because it keeps us moving.
But there's a downside.
If your self-worth depends entirely on achievement,
The finish line keeps moving.
You tell yourself you'll finally be enough at the next milestone.
Then you reach it and create another condition.
So try something.
Think about yourself three years ago.
What did that person want?
What problems were they trying to solve?
And what did they hope their life might look like?
There are probably things in your life today that version of you would have been incredibly proud of.
But today's version of you barely notices them.
Ambition isn't the problem.
You can appreciate your life and still want more from it.
The skill is learning to hold both ideas simultaneously.
I'm proud of how far I've come.
And I'm not finished yet.
Otherwise,
You risk spending your entire life chasing a feeling that achievement alone was never capable of giving you.
Master yourself first.
Everything else follows.
