A meditation on letting yesterday fall away invites you to release lingering regrets, worries, or unfinished stories so they don’t weigh on today. By creating space in your mind and heart, you open yourself to the freshness and possibility of this new day. From that place of clarity, you can set an intention for how you wish to show up—with presence, compassion, and steadiness.

Transcript

This is a meditation for getting up in the morning.

You could even do it in bed or swinging your legs over the bed or even on a cushion.

But let's begin by taking a moment to feel the body resting on the earth.

Wherever your points of contact are,

Whether it's your back or your seat or your feet,

Relaxing into the ground.

We can begin by taking some time to focus on the breath.

You could even start with a few deep body breaths,

Whole body breathing in and out and relaxing with your normal cycle of breathing.

And we'll take a moment to reflect.

Today is a new day.

It has endless possibilities.

We do not know what will come.

So to the best of our ability,

Just taking a moment to let the past go.

Just taking a breath and as you breathe out,

Just letting yesterday be yesterday.

Letting the weeks before fall away.

Today is a new day.

It is up to you how much you want to be here for it.

Whether you choose to be present or if you make choices that lead to distraction.

Take a moment to reflect on what qualities you would like to cultivate in your waking hours.

Instead of focusing our attention on what we want to do,

We focus on who we want to be,

How we want to be there for others.

In these final moments,

Just reconnecting to the breath,

Enjoying the vitality and health of our own well-being in this moment we are okay.

Opening your eyes or raising your gaze,

You can re-enter your day.

Thank you, Lodro. I have missed you since Buddhify. So happy you are doing meditations here. Letting these past weeks dissolve away was powerful and so, so helpful. Nice to be present with this day. 🙏🏼
