Our bodies need to be at peace to be in a state of harmonious balance within its Yin and Yang forces. In addition to physical health, there is also a link between the chi flowing through the meridians and our emotional well being. This meditation uses the mind to connect to the energy of heaven and earth, balancing and unifying these with the life energies in the body. By balancing the chi within the body and connecting with the life energy around us, we create a state of healthy homeostasis.

Transcript

Allow yourself to switch from the usual mode of doing to a mood of non-doing,

Of simply being.

Sit in an erect,

Comfortable posture,

With your feet resting on the floor.

As you allow your body to become still,

Bring your attention to your breathing.

Become aware of the movement of your breath as it comes into your body and as it leaves your body.

No need to change the breath in any way.

Simply being aware of the breath and of any feelings associated with breathing.

Observe the breath deep down in your belly.

Feel the abdomen as it expands gently on the in-breath and as it falls back towards your spine on the out-breath.

Being totally here in each moment,

With each breath,

There's no need to do anything,

No need to go anywhere.

Just simply being here with your breath and your body.

Giving full care and attention to each in-breath and to each out-breath as they follow one another in a never-ending cycle and flow.

You will find that from time to time,

Your mind will wander off into thoughts,

Fantasies,

Anticipations of the future,

Worries,

Or memories.

When you notice that your attention is no longer here and no longer with your breathing,

Without judging yourself,

Bring your attention back to your breathing and ride the waves of your breath.

Be fully conscious of the duration of each breath from moment to moment.

Every time you find your mind wandering off the breath,

Gently bring it back to the present,

Back to the moment to moment,

Observing of the flow of your breathing.

Using your breath to help you tune into a state of relaxed awareness and stillness.

Now if it feels right to you,

Allow your attention to turn toward your feet,

Resting on the floor.

Allow yourself to really feel the support of the earth underneath you,

Staying with your attention on the bottom of your feet and then gradually with the earth beneath your feet,

Just feeling the ground.

Now begin to imagine and feel the chi energy of the earth.

Enter the energy gates on the bottom of your feet.

Imagine that your feet are contacting the fresh green energy of the earth.

Allow this fresh energy to rise up through the meridians in your feet,

Known as the bubbling springs.

As you begin to feel this earth energy mixing with your own life energy,

Your mind follows the chi flowing from your feet and into your legs.

Feel the energy here.

Perhaps there is a warm sensation or tingling or coolness.

Just notice how the energy feels in your feet and legs as you breathe in and out.

Now notice that this earth energy flows from your legs into your pelvis and belly.

Feel its sensation.

Feel the warmth,

The tingling,

The heat or the coolness.

Notice how the energy begins to flow through your chest,

Surrounding your heart with its warming vibrations.

It is soothing to your chest and heart beating here.

Now you notice the soothing life energy flowing upward into your shoulders and neck.

Notice these sensations.

Are they relaxing,

Warm,

Tingly?

Rest here in this soothing,

Warm energy.

Soon your attention follows the energy to your face and head.

And now you can imagine and feel energy from above,

Heavenly energy,

Entering through the top of your head,

Through the crown chakra,

Flowing down into your face,

Neck and shoulders.

You're aware of this heavenly energy as it flows down into your chest,

Mixing with earth's energy at the place of the heart.

This life energy from above and below blankets you in a warm,

Peaceful state.

You are here in the now,

Home in your body,

Soothed by the energies of heaven and earth and their calming vibrations.

There is freedom here in this moment from all worries.

No coming,

No going,

Just being with your body and your soul.

There is peace here and perhaps a realization that you are this energy.

Perhaps a realization that you are connected to the earth,

To the heavens and to all living beings in the realm of all things.

Rest here in this peace.

Awaken to life's energy coursing through you and through everyone,

Through everything,

The earth,

The heavens,

The universe.

And here in this moment and in all moments,

In all time,

You are human,

You are spirit,

You are complete,

You are whole.
