Hello,
Friend.
My name is Lisa Schlossberg and I will be your guide for today.
If you are watching this video,
It's likely that you are either going to get on the scale and weigh yourself,
Or you are considering it or thinking about it.
And so let's just first acknowledge the situation as it is,
And that this can be often for many people,
An emotional,
Triggering,
Or otherwise activating experience.
And that is okay.
We don't need to make it different than it is.
And at the same time,
I think most important thing for you to remember in this moment is that whatever you see and whatever the result is,
You will survive and you will be okay.
I cannot guarantee that you will feel good about it.
I cannot guarantee that you will be happy about it.
And that's okay.
So in this moment,
What I want to invite you to remember is that whatever comes next,
It doesn't mean anything about you.
You getting on the scale is you getting information about your gravitational pull to the Earth.
It doesn't mean anything about how lovable you are.
It doesn't mean anything about how worthy you are of belonging and connection.
It doesn't mean anything in terms of how safe you are to exist in your body right now.
So if it's helpful,
Let's just take a moment to acknowledge that you are safe here right now.
You may not be comfortable.
That's part of being human.
But there is safety here right now.
So even if you just look around the room.
Where you are.
Notice some colors,
Notice some objects.
And just ground yourself in the moment,
In the space that you're in.
Allowing your system to settle a bit.
Because this is not life-threatening.
It might be emotional,
But it's not life-threatening.
And so again,
Whatever happens next.
You might be uncomfortable.
You might not be.
But no matter what,
You are safe.
And so I'm just going to guide you for a minute or so.
To really communicate that message to your mind-body system so that you can get on the scale and move forward with your day.
So having said that,
I want to invite you to close your eyes.
And just start with a couple deep,
Slow breaths.
And as you are bringing the awareness to your breath,
See if you can feel your inhale and exhale.
So you're not just thinking about inhale and exhale,
But you are allowing yourself to feel the breath move through your body.
Noticing your lungs expanding with every inhale.
And contracting with every exhale.
And if there's any stress or tension that you might be holding in your body.
Allowing yourself to notice that.
And if it feels okay.
To release that.
And just try on.
The energy.
Of safety.
So if you were totally okay.
And you could relax your muscles completely.
Because you know.
That you are connected to love.
Breathe into that energy and allow that to be here.
As you remind yourself.
At whatever happens next.
You will be okay.
Roar!
And if you want to take another few breaths,
Maybe pause this video where it is.
And really allow yourself a few more moments of grounding.
I invite you to do that.
And lastly,
Just maybe placing a hand on your heart if that feels nice.
And feeling your own presence.
So again,
You can remind yourself no matter what happens next,
You are here.
You are here.
You are loved.
You are safe.
You are here.
And if it feels like a good time and you feel ready and grounded.
I want to invite you to blink your eyes open.
And again,
Just staying with your breath,
Staying with your body.
Noticing the surroundings.
And giving yourself as long as you need.
To stay settled and grounded in your system.
And if you need more time,
That's okay.
Take another few deep breaths.
Really feel your breath move through your body.
And when you are ready.
You can get on the scale.
