Hello and welcome to today's movement meditation.
I'm Lisa and I'll be your guide today.
As we nourish our body with movement.
In today's practice,
We'll be moving in ways that resemble an infinity pattern.
And why?
Because an infinity pattern is continuous.
It teaches us to move in circles and spirals.
And its nourishing to the entire body.
So let us begin.
Let us start with our feet about shoulder width apart.
We'll spread our toes,
Activate the muscles of the feet.
And from here,
Soften at your knees.
Let us think of turning our body somewhat to the right and somewhat to the left.
Anchor down through your feet.
Keep your knees slightly bent.
And for now,
You can look straight ahead.
As you turn to the left.
.
.
And right.
And then not only turn left and right,
Turn and push left or right.
So turn.
And push.
Turn.
And push.
Turn your body and shift your weight from leg to leg.
And start feeling your body sway.
In the pattern of an infinity.
Feel that continuous flow.
Feel the fluidity.
Breathe with it.
Make sounds with your breath.
Imagine a flashlight attached to your chest.
Turn your flashlight to the right and follow the light.
Move to the right.
Then turn your flashlight to point to the left and push your body in the direction of the light.
Notice how you're moving in one direction.
Right here,
We're moving forward with the infinity pattern.
We can also move backwards.
Let's try to reverse it here.
Inhale and exhale as you softly sway and shift your weight.
Backwards,
Moving like an infinity pattern.
Starting to embody that infinity pattern.
Feeling Limitless.
As if anything at all is possible.
Again,
Imagine a flashlight on your chest.
Now when the light turns to the right,
Back away from the light.
Then turn the light to the left.
And again,
Back away from the light.
Explore the movement.
Allow for micro-movements,
Micro-changes.
To infiltrate your infinity pattern.
Sometimes go bigger,
Sometimes go smaller.
Sometimes go slower.
Sometimes faster.
Sometimes change direction.
And also become aware of what part of your body is focusing on the infinity pattern.
Is your whole body moving in an infinity pattern?
Or is one specific area moving?
Through the pattern itself.
And then let's bring the attention to the pelvis and let us move the pelvis and mainly the pelvis alone in the infinity pattern.
Notice the direction of flow.
Is it forward?
Or reversed.
And explore both.
As you inhale and exhale.
As you notice how the movements at the pelvis Affect the knees.
Affect the ankles.
Bring the attention up to your heart.
And begin to let the heart focus on the infinity patterns.
Turning the shoulder girdle one way and the other.
Moving it.
Side.
Side.
Nourishing all the cells around the heart.
Through the shoulders,
Through the neck.
Creating circulation.
Bringing tissue back to life.
Bringing oxygen to the cells.
And allow that infinity pattern to travel right out to your fingertips.
From your heart right through your arms.
As you allow your arms to draw the infinity pattern.
Still shifting weight from side to side.
Perhaps speeding up.
Perhaps keeping it slow.
But if you're able to speed it up a little bit,
Allow for the tension to just fly out through your fingertips.
From your heart,
Release tension right out through your fingertips.
Reverse the pattern any time you wish.
Noticing which way you're moving the arms.
Weather Forward.
Or backwards with the infinity pattern.
When moving forward,
It can feel somewhat like a front stroke in tennis.
When moving backwards,
It feels more like that backstroke in tennis.
Mmm,
Keep breathing with the movement.
Allow for the body to explore the infinity patterns in a variety of ways.
Explore what feels good.
What feels nourishing.
Breathe with the movement.
Make audible exhales if it feels right to you.
Just like the infinity pattern.
The options are limitless here.
Even balancing on a single leg and moving a single leg in an infinity pattern.
The infinity pattern invites our body to move the way nature does.
Through continuous flow.
So as you trace each figure eight,
You're crossing your body's midline.
You're encouraging communication between the right and left sides of your body while creating gentle rhythmic shifts in balance and weight.
This continuous motion supports circulation.
It awakens the fascial system and invites the whole body to work together instead of in isolated parts.
Rather than forcing movement.
We're nourishing it.
Creating space for ease,
Coordination and fluidity.
There is no beginning.
And no end to an infinity.
Only a steady rhythm that reminds the body how to move with rather than against itself.
Alright,
Here I'm now introducing one more infinity pattern.
This is a special one.
It's our teacups.
So keep the palm facing up to the sky.
And bring the circle into the waist.
Then stretch the arm wide to the side.
Then circle over the head and stretch the arm wide.
Notice which finger leads the circles.
Is it your pinky finger or your thumb?
And then change the direction.
Every circle leads to another.
Every movement nourishes the next.
Let's try doing it on the other side.
Hold the hot cup of tea wide to the side,
Then circle it into the waist.
Stretch it wide,
Circle over the head,
Stretch it wide.
Notice which finger is leading with the circles.
And when you're ready,
Change that direction.
Switch the leading finger.
Whether it's your pinky finger or your thumb.
We can also move both arms at the same time through the teacup pattern.
They can mirror each other or they might even move independently of one another.
Allow it to become a little dance.
And continue to allow your infinities to flow through you.
Breathe with it.
Allow the movement to nourish every cell in your body.
As you reach across.
As you shift your weight.
As you find balance.
As you move things in micro-movements.
Stimulating.
Motion and lotion.
Continue to explore your infinity patterns,
All the ways in which your body is able to create infinity patterns.
All the ways in which it is able to make you feel so good in your body.
So at home in your body.
Allow for the playful nature of the practice to come through.
Allow it to strengthen you.
To nourish you.
And to release what?
No longer serves you.
Thank you for moving with me in the pattern of infinities.
May you be limitless.
