Welcome to Finding Your Footing.
I'm Leslie.
If you've been feeling like you're running in place,
Putting in tremendous effort but not really getting anywhere,
This practice is designed to help you step off that treadmill and onto solid ground.
Today we're going to explore how to move from scattered motion to purposeful direction.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the momentum of doing that we forget to ask ourselves where we're actually going.
We stay busy.
We check things off lists.
But at the end of the day,
We feel like we're exactly where we started.
It's exhausting to run without a direction.
It's overwhelming to swim against a current that's exponentially stronger than you are.
But what becomes possible when you find your footing,
When you deviate from familiar repetitive responses and move your energy into a new direction?
Let's discover this together.
Find a comfortable seated position and when you're ready,
Allow your gaze to soften and then slowly close your eyes.
First,
Let's acknowledge where you are right now on the treadmill.
Now,
Bring to mind that feeling of moving fast but not moving forward.
What does that feel like in your body?
Notice any tension,
Any sense of spinning or rushing energy.
Now,
Imagine you can simply step off this treadmill.
There's no dramatic stop,
No jarring halt.
You simply choose to step sideways off the moving belt onto solid,
Stable ground.
Feel your feet connect with the firm surface beneath you.
Take a breath and notice the difference.
You're no longer moving for the sake of moving.
Let's take three grounding breaths together.
With each breath,
Feel yourself becoming more stable,
More rooted.
Breathe in stability.
Breathe out scattered energy.
Breathe in clarity.
Breathe out confusion about direction.
Breathe in your power to choose.
Breathe out the need to keep running in place.
From this solid ground,
You can now look around and see where you actually want to go.
When you're not caught up in the motion of the treadmill,
You can choose a real destination.
Take a moment to sense what direction calls to you.
Not what you think you should do,
But what feels aligned with who you are becoming.
From this place of solid footing,
Any movement you make now will be intentional.
You're no longer reactive,
Constantly trying to catch up.
You're responsive,
Choosing your direction with awareness.
Feel how different this is,
How much more sustainable,
How much more peaceful.
Let's practice this new way of moving.
In your mind,
Choose one small step you can take from this grounded place.
Not because you have to,
But because it aligns with where you are.
Where you want to go.
How does it feel to choose this step from solid ground rather than from the spinning energy of the treadmill?
With each conscious breath,
Feel your footing becoming stronger.
You're building trust in your ability to pause,
Assess,
And choose rather than simply react and rush.
Breathe in your right to solid ground.
Breathe out the old pattern of endless motion.
Remember this feeling of having solid ground beneath your feet.
This is always available to you.
No matter how fast life seems to be moving around you,
You can always choose to step off the treadmill and find your footing.
When you change course,
Things change course.
When you stop moving for the sake of moving and begin to actually go somewhere,
You'll find yourself making real progress.
Take one more moment to feel your connection to this solid ground.
Trust that you know where you want to go.
Trust that you have the strength to get there one intentional step at a time.
Thank you for taking this time to find your footing.
You are exactly where you need to be.
Until next time,
Stay present,
Be peaceful,
Live prosperous.
