Lovingkindness For The Middle East
by Leide Porcu
When I am at a loss for words and not sure where to go, I do meditation. The current escalation of violence in the Middle East is one of those situations. Please join me in sending love and peace to our friends in the Middle East and their families here.

Loving-kindness meditation for Israel and Palestine.
When the situation is difficult and I'm a loss of words and I don't know where else to go,
I go to meditation.
So I decided to do this meditation of loving-kindness.
To bring loving-kindness where there are no appropriate words and no clear action plan that works for everybody.
To help develop a sense of love and mutual collaboration and connection.
And I hope you can join me with this.
Setting this loving-kindness without polarization.
Sending loving-kindness first and foremost to ourselves to be strong and be able to help other people and also not to offend other people.
And potentiate our wiseness,
Our wise mind.
And I invite you to sit in a comfortable place,
Noticing the feelings in your body and acknowledging pain if there is pain and grief.
And acknowledging the anger too.
Feelings that we have are there and there is nothing we can do about not having them.
But we can do something about how we react to them,
How we express them and loving-kindness helps being wise and rooted.
Noticing your body,
Your belly rising and falling,
Rising and falling and the feelings in your shoulders and chest,
Your heart.
And if there is any tension,
Breathe into that tension.
And as you sit quietly,
Noises may interrupt you and me.
So bringing a state of acceptance for the place we are in.
And you may have your eyes open or closed but I invite you to maintain a state of awareness beyond your body,
To the room,
Expanding your awareness to the space outside and also to the world outside and all the many things that are unfolding.
Some of them affect us directly and others are far away.
But we are all connected.
And with loving-kindness meditation we invoke traditional sentences of love.
And starting with ourselves,
We send loving-kindness to ourselves to be able to be strong and wise and to be each one leader in our environment,
Leading ourselves and the people we love and at the same time being led by other people and finding a place to do a dance together.
And you can change these sentences in the way you like,
If you don't like the ones I'm using and also I'm gonna use the traditional lineup of people.
But if you feel activated and angry at any point use yourself,
Send loving-kindness to yourself instead of other people.
The most important people right now it's us so that we can be better with others.
So let's start.
In your mind you can repeat these words.
May I be happy?
May I be peaceful?
May I be free from suffering?
May I be strong?
May I be healthy?
May I be able to let go?
May I be truly happy?
May I be peaceful?
May I be free from suffering?
May I be strong?
May I be healthy?
May I be able to accept what comes?
May I be wise?
May I be safe?
May I be equitable?
May I be strong?
May I be healthy?
May I be safe?
Evoking these feelings and these well wishes inside of us.
Moving now to our mentors and teachers and all the people that have in the past and continue to support us and teach and help us live.
May you be happy?
May you be strong?
May you be wise?
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
Teachers and mentors?
May you be also happy?
May you be safe?
May you be able to let go?
Moving now to the people we love,
Bringing them to your mind.
May you also be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
May you be strong?
May you be healthy?
May you be able to let go?
May you be strong?
May you be wise?
May you be safe?
Moving now to someone you don't know that well,
You're kind of indifferent of.
May you also be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
May you be strong?
May you be healthy?
May you be able to accept what comes?
May you be safe?
May you be strong?
May you be wise?
Moving now to someone you barely know.
Actually,
Moving now to someone you have some problem with.
Someone you have some light problem with.
We are just starting.
And if you prefer,
Continue with yourself.
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
May you be strong?
May you be healthy?
May you be able to let go?
May you be safe?
May you be wise?
May you be able to accept what comes?
Moving your awareness now to the people you know and the people around you that are aching because of the situation.
They may have relatives there,
They may be from there.
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
May you be strong?
May you be healthy?
May you be able to let go?
May you be truly happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be wise?
May you be safe?
May you be strong?
May you be able to accept what comes?
Bring into mind now the people in the Middle East,
East and West Jerusalem and all the different parts of the Middle East.
The Israeli parts,
The Palestinian parts and the parts that are contested.
Bringing to mind all the people,
All the people together,
The people that are aching.
And let's start with the children.
All the children we've seen and the one we haven't seen.
The one that are wounded and sending a thought of love also to the ones that are not here with us anymore.
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
May you be strong?
May you be healthy?
May you be able to let go?
May you be safe?
May you be wise?
May you be able to accept what comes?
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
Moving now to the adults of any age.
May you be strong?
May you be wise?
May you be fair?
May you be safe?
May you be equitable?
May you be strong?
May you be happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be able to survive and thrive?
May you be truly happy?
May you be peaceful?
May you be free from suffering?
And you can always come back to yourself or continue with them but I'm gonna move to the neighboring countries.
May you be wise?
May you be equitable?
May you be fair?
May you be strong?
May you be safe?
May you be peaceful?
And now going back to yourself in your room,
In the place where you are and keeping this larger picture in your mind and in your awareness.
Feeling the love we have generated and the awareness and feeling your heart in your chest and feeling your warmth,
The warmth of your being alive and your breath and your love.
And can you expand your love and your breath and as you breathe out sending loving-kindness from your body to the building and the streets around you and the next time you breathe out sending it farther and farther beyond the borders of your country reaching the Americas and Europe and Asia and Australia and focusing on the Middle East that beating bloody bleeding heart over there that red area and you can you connect with that and sending loving-kindness all over an embrace of love.
May we all be safe and peaceful and at ease.
Namaste.

I slept well, in spite of being afraid that WW3 is starting. Why are those of us who want peace, not heard? So i will meditate again on this, and for some time I'm sure. Thank you 😊

Beautiful. I have been struggling with the current conflict in the Middle East. At times I have been avoiding watching the news, as it is painful and distressing. I felt really connected with your meditation. Thanks for creating and sharing. 🙏💛
