The destruction and hatred we witness in the world can be devastating. I hope this short reading will encourage you to bloom anyway, in the ways that are natural and joyful to you. There is much devastation in the world. This is all the more reason for us to allow ourselves to bloom. (Music by Chris Collins at Indie Music Box.)

The yellow rose was blooming.

Each morning I went to her,

To lose and find myself in her silken ruffles and heavenly scent.

Elsewhere,

Somewhere beyond the garden walls,

Bloody wars were taking place.

Children were being trafficked across borders.

Whales were being slaughtered.

Rainforests were disappearing.

And there were sick,

Hungry and desperate people everywhere.

The yellow rose knew of it all,

Communicated to her through an intricate underground network of routes spanning the entire globe.

She was often sad when she heard of these things,

And some mornings did not feel like opening herself to the world.

But each morning she told herself that even though she did not know how she could help,

And even though it was sometimes a great effort,

Because her heart was so heavy,

She would go on doing what she could,

And what she knew to do.

She would bloom anyway.

When I visited her each morning,

I gave thanks for her efforts,

And I did my very best to learn from her example,

That I,

Too,

Must bloom anyway.

Fabulous insight. With my family verbally attacking all the time, I try to hide myself from them but then I just end up lonely far away from my home in my car somewhere. And when I do come home, the attacks continue. I’ve had my church pray for me but most people think only because of health reasons and domestic violence and abuse. It’s Very hard under the weight of my family’s criticism to do anything bright but I’m proud to say that i finished crocheting an primary colors airplane which I hope would brighten someone else’s day. Thank you. Warmly, Anne

I found this emotional. It is encouraging to me, to keep trying your best, staying kind, helpful and understanding in the midst of a world in chaos, miscommunication, conflict and fueled anger. It is really hard sometimes but every morning we must try again…Finding new strength from nature’s beauty.

I felt such permission to allow myself to embrace the love and wisdom of nature and embrace my joy and happiness I encounter and feel as I take my daily walk on the garden paths surrounding my home.

My grandmother grew and tended to the most beautiful, most fragrant, very large yellow roses with red tips. Sweet tears of this precious memory etched in my mind and written with love on my soul now and forever more💫She’s one of the very few that was kind to me when I was a small child. As I’m awakening to a shattered heart of the truth, she taught me to love anyway💛 bloom anyway 💛live anyway💛and most importantly that I was her little yellow rose of sunshine and that she loved me now and forever more and to be kind to all . Thank you for this beautiful reminder of the love I do know of. This was avmagical moment 💫🙏🏼💛
