Today I want to talk about fear.
What a topic,
Right?
What the heck is it about fear that makes fear so powerful?
Like,
Why?
Why do we let it control us so much?
Do you know how much we miss in our daily lives because of fear?
I mean we do.
We miss stuff.
I know I do.
I mean,
If we're being honest,
We miss stuff,
Right?
Lately I've been thinking that this might be like my age starting to creep up a little bit,
But honestly I've been feeling a little bit fearful,
Nervous around like large groups of people,
You know?
And what is so weird about that is I went to that women's March years ago where there was like 750,
000 people,
Right?
I was fine.
I was absolutely fine.
I was alone.
I didn't even go with anybody.
I just like,
And I was fine.
But the idea today of going to a concert in a stadium just is like,
Nope,
Nope,
Can't do it.
Why is that?
Why is that?
What are weird things that you guys are fearful of?
Spiders,
Snakes.
Oh my God,
Don't get me started on snakes.
Water.
I know people that are scared of water.
I'm just sort of have a little bit of fear of water,
You know?
Going outside.
Bridges.
Oh my God.
I have a massive fear of bridges.
Always have from minute one.
I'm sure it's related to a past life without a doubt because there's no reason why I would be this nervous around bridges,
Right?
And I've had to go over some pretty big ones over my life,
Right?
So there's that.
Ghosts.
People are scared of ghosts.
Now,
Having been doing this for a while,
I don't feel fearful around ghosts or spirit energy,
But a lot of people do.
Fear of the unknown.
A lot of people are fearful of that,
Right?
So I could get into all the reasons why we might be fearful of this or that,
But right now I want to discuss,
I want to focus on a really,
Well,
Let me put it to you this way,
The very real fear of development of our spiritual gifts and ghosts,
Right?
I always giggle when I say the word ghost because to me,
It's just,
It's like this word that sort of evokes fear and I don't know why.
Like it used to evoke fear in me,
You know,
Or maybe not fear for me.
Maybe it was more like when I was young,
Maybe it was,
Is more like a,
Like an unknown,
Like,
Ooh,
What's that?
You know?
But what exactly is that fear of ghosts all about?
You know,
It's the fear of the unknown of it all.
You know,
Where do we really go when we die?
What really happens to us when we leave our physical body?
You know?
Now here's the funny thing is that even though I'm a medium and I've been told stuff by spirits,
You know,
I mean,
As a matter of fact,
Just last night I was giving a reading and I was like,
It was this spirit that I've read before and the spirit comes through and he starts talking about,
I mean,
He,
He just is so great at,
At,
Um,
And explaining what it's like on the other side.
Right.
I've been taught,
He is such a great teacher of that.
Right.
But we haven't experienced that for ourselves.
So there's a,
There could be a fear around it.
You know,
When you see that shadow of a corner of your eye,
Does it freak you out?
Does it,
Does it give you a little fear?
It did me until I began to recognize my power.
Honestly,
It's all in my head.
It was all for me,
It was all in my head.
Fear is solely in our minds.
It's a self induced emotion.
And when we realize that when we have that we have complete control over it in our minds,
Then all of a sudden it's got no power.
Okay.
So in terms of spiritual stuff,
When we realize that we have the power over all these spirits,
Spirits that are,
That potentially could be there.
And when we take that power back,
It has no more power to scare us,
Right?
No power to stop us from living a happy life.
Isn't that what fear does?
It stops us from having a happy life.
I mean,
It's just so ridiculous.
When we truly understand this and get it on that deep,
Deep level,
The power is stripped away.
And that's when freedom occurs.
Whether you're developing your spiritual gifts or whether it's a fear of snakes.
I mean,
Seriously,
You know,
Many people,
I have a lot of people that come to me and they ask me about dealing with shadows,
You know,
Or they see other odd,
Like they have like ghostly experiences and stuff,
You know,
And when I start to tell them and they're freaked out,
Right?
But when I start to tell them that they have control,
When I start the empowerment process of that and they start to understand that they have the power over it,
You can see light bulbs going off all over the place and they start to,
The fear starts to dissipate,
You know,
And they start to understand their own power,
Whether it's power in your mind or whether it's power in your body or whatever,
You know.
Now,
I get that I'm kind of making this a little bit simplistic,
But when we decide that we are done feeling trapped by that fear,
By the power that fear is,
And we realize how much control we have given it in our lives and we decide that we're done and we start taking the power back,
That is the freedom.
Freedom.
We need to take our power back and feel that freedom.
Okay,
So we're going to meditate on this.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
And when we allow ourselves to feel that freedom,
When we allow ourselves to feel free in our lives,
Fear has no place and that's when fear goes away.
Yay.
Okay,
All right,
So let's get to sit comfortably.
Let's take a deep breath in through your nose.
So inhale and release it.
Perfect.
Perfect.
So as we get ready to sit in stillness for just a few minutes,
Let's consider a few things that we are grateful for.
What are you grateful for?
And let's go a little deep today.
Are you grateful for the idea of getting your power back?
Are you grateful for taking power over the fear?
What are you grateful for today?
I mean,
You could also be grateful for that cup of coffee.
So our affirmation that we're going to sit with is this,
Today I release fear and self-doubt and invite in courage and confidence.
Today I release fear and self-doubt and invite in courage and confidence.
So as we sit in the stillness,
Start to feel that powerful energy coming in as we invite in courage and confidence.
Releasing that fear and allowing the power of confidence to come in to our being.
So I will keep the time here just for a few minutes.
Let's begin.
