Welcome to In the Flow,
A positivity provoking podcast designed to lift us up to that higher place to live our best lives.
We will laugh,
Cry,
Meditate,
And discuss any and all things spiritual to learn and remove any stigma surrounding spiritual gifts,
Meditation,
Prayer,
And the afterlife.
This past week,
I was fortunate actually to very interestingly witness a myriad of ways of being.
I have said in the past,
Of course,
A thousand times probably,
I'm one of those people where I look at what's going on and I try to find the lesson.
I'm one of those types of people,
Which is probably why I do what I do because I look to see what lesson can be learned in pretty much any situation.
Right?
So that's kind of how I am.
And for some reason,
I feel like that I was sort of led to witness these certain acts of beautiful compassion for other people.
But I also was able to witness some really cruel behavior.
And it's just,
It's so interesting.
I mean,
For lack of a better way to describe it,
My brain kept saying to me,
Where is the compassion in life?
You know,
And I don't mean to get so deep,
So quick,
I guess,
But I kept thinking of is where is compassion?
You know,
I mean,
We keep,
And this is why I actually,
I sort of stopped watching the news because,
And actually I did watch the news last night and it was one thing right after another of this person,
Literally shooting this other person or,
Or,
You know,
Road rage.
Seriously,
I actually experienced road rage today or not today,
But over the weekend.
Oh my gosh,
This guy was like,
We didn't even do anything.
And this guy was like,
Oh man,
Like we literally did nothing.
You know?
Now I will say I'm not a Saint.
I am not a Saint.
I am prone to irritation,
Just like the next guy.
Truly I am.
And I'm not trying to say that I'm like better than anybody else,
But this guy,
Like he was so mad and he,
All right,
I'm just going to tell you guys this.
He flashed us this sign that I'm not going to do because I don't know what it means.
It wasn't the middle finger.
It was some other sign that I'm not going to tell you because I don't know how,
I don't know what the sign means.
So we were looking it up on Google.
That's how bad it was.
Right.
But you know what,
All we were doing was driving.
Where is the compassion is all I can think of.
We're just driving,
You know,
I mean,
It's like,
You know,
I mean,
I feel like I'm just supposed to put this thought out there that if we could just stop ourselves before we judge,
You know,
And I'm not talking about,
You know,
Just anybody that's that's listening out there.
I'm talking about me too.
You know,
Like I just keep thinking to myself,
Before I judge,
Before I,
I don't even know before I before I jumped to a conclusion about something.
You know,
Maybe this guy,
Maybe the guy wasn't giving me a nasty sign,
Maybe,
Maybe it was,
Maybe it was a hi,
How are you?
No one trust me.
But you know what I'm saying?
It's like,
Where is the compassion?
So today,
And you can take this on if you'd like today,
My thing is my and I can't.
And you know what I'm one again,
I told you,
I'm one of those people where I try to find the lesson in life and I get that from my mother,
It's an honest thing,
Right?
It was the same way.
There's always a lesson,
You know,
Kind of thing.
But today,
I feel like that I am going to take on stepping back.
If I get triggered by anything,
I'm just going to take a step back and,
And consider that okay to stop,
You know what I mean?
Before I judge,
Before I jump to conclusions,
Before I do that,
I'm going to take a step back.
So that's kind of my thing for the day.
You know,
Can you imagine if the entire world would do that?
Just for like,
Just for one day,
Even just one day.
Can you imagine what our world would be like?
I know I live pie in the sky.
I know.
But I keep thinking to myself,
Oh my god,
If the world would just instead of,
Instead of being,
Instead of being judgmental of just everybody in every situation,
If we all just stepped back and like,
Took a breath,
You know,
So yeah,
So that's like my thing for today.
Oh yeah,
Right?
Seriously,
You know,
I,
You know,
We are all works in progress.
We are all as Ram Dass lovingly says,
We are all spiritual beings having a human experience.
And,
And I can,
That's why I kind of like allow myself to,
I kind of allow myself to,
To have those human experiences,
And to feel those human emotions because we are spiritual beings having a human experience so we're supposed to experience those works,
But we're supposed to experience those emotions,
And then that's okay.
But you know I just don't like how I feel whenever I,
You know,
Whenever I catch myself being judgmental or not kind.
You know,
So that's kind of my,
My,
That's my thing for the day.
So that's kind of where I'm,
I feel like I,
I wanted to share that with you guys.
Because,
You know,
Again,
One day,
If the whole world did that.
We have the ability to do a be a ripple effect.
We have the ability for that,
If we did that if we just started these,
These people that are listening right now right if we just started that imagine the ripple effect in in this,
This ocean of the world,
You know,
Like we drop a little drop of kindness in and it ripples out.
I love that thought.
I don't know,
And that's kind of where I end up going.
That's where my head ends up going because I am an eternal optimist,
You know.
So,
Anyway,
Okay so what we are going to do today we're going to meditate on compassion.
Okay,
Of course,
Right.
And I've got my,
I don't even know what you call this but it's a,
I don't even know what you call it,
A tongue drum.
Yeah.
Right.
It's a tongue drum,
Right,
So we're gonna,
I'm going to play this while we meditate.
We are.
I'm just super excited,
So I'm not very good at a tongue drum,
But you know what,
I'm putting myself out there.
That's my goal in life is to put myself out there.
Pause,
Respond,
Instead of react.
100% 100% so okay so let's get ourselves comfortable,
So we can sit for a few minutes and meditate on compassion.
Karuna Hum.
So,
Get yourself comfortable.
Close your eyes whenever you're ready.
And let's start our day,
Week,
Whatever time of the day it is for you.
Let's start out today by thinking of just a few things to be grateful for.
I am so grateful for being right here right now.
I am so grateful for this opportunity for us all to be together.
What are you grateful for.
I'm so thankful for the joy that being here creates for me.
Beautiful.
So let's take a nice deep breath in and release.
Perfect.
Our mantra for today is Karuna Hum.
And it means deep compassion and universal love for all beings.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Perfect.
Karuna Hum.
And if you lose the mantra if you forget the words it's absolutely,
Absolutely okay.
You can always come back and just concentrate on your breath.
Concentrate on your breath.
And the space between the thoughts.
That's our goal.
I will keep the time.
Let's begin.

It's,
It's,
If you've never played a tongue drum,
It's very,
It's meditative just to play it.
It's gorgeous,
Right?
Oh,
I love playing that.
And I know I'm not amazingly great at it,
But it was really so much,
It was beautiful for me.
So thank you guys.
I appreciate it.
Thank you for indulging me,
Right?
So,
I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thank you so much for joining today.
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
