Meditation,
Prayer,
And the afterlife.
So hello.
Thanks for joining today.
I appreciate you guys for showing up and all the beautiful energy that we've created here,
Right?
So here's my question for the day.
Do you love yourself?
Ooh,
Crazy,
Right in there,
Right?
Do you like yourself?
Sometimes it's hard to love or even like yourself,
And they're two different things.
You know,
They're the same,
But they're different,
Right?
I think truly loving or liking yourself is really one of the most important things that we can do.
And here's the thing,
It does not have to be in a self-centered kind of way.
It's okay to love yourself.
And it's okay to say that.
It's okay to like yourself.
I love that,
Right?
I heard years ago,
I heard Abraham Hicks say that one time and it kind of rocked my world a bit.
They said,
You know,
It's okay to put yourself first because no one else will.
And we have to do that for ourselves.
I love Esther Hicks and Abraham.
They have a way of just kind of like,
Woo,
Like kink right in your head to get the point across,
Right?
And I was like,
Wow,
It's okay.
You know,
Somebody needs to tell us it's okay to love yourself.
So that brings up my question.
What is something about yourself that you love?
What do you love about yourself?
Can you come up with one thing that you can say to yourself?
Right?
So here's another question.
What do you like about yourself?
Is there something that you can say out loud to yourself?
Oh my gosh,
I like that.
Like if you look in the mirror,
I like my hair or you know what,
Or if you want to go a little deeper,
You could say,
You know what,
I like that I can be friendly to pretty much anybody,
Like in the grocery store or you know,
Wherever.
That's a good one,
Right?
And you know what,
And here's the thing,
We should not worry about it sounding egotistical.
I know that I tend towards that and I know other people do too.
Like you tend towards the way of being or feeling egotistical about it.
Like,
Well,
I can't say that I'm really,
I'm a really good musician because it'll sound egotistical.
But you know what?
Why has society told us that we can't say we're good at something,
Right?
It's so true.
Society tells us that we need to squelch it.
I was told always keep your ego at the door.
And I don't mean ego like your being,
I mean the ego like I'm better than you or worse than you,
That sort of thing.
Always keep your ego,
My parents instilled that in me.
Always keep your,
Check your ego at the door.
But they meant don't be conceited,
That sort of ego.
There's the other type of ego,
Which is ourself.
That's a whole other story,
Right?
So here's my next question.
And you guys have probably heard me say this before,
But have you ever looked in the mirror and said,
I love you.
That's crazy,
Right?
If you've never heard of mirror work before,
I believe,
I believe,
I could be wrong about this,
But I think that Louise Hay made this a thing.
I'm sure that somebody somewhere thought of this maybe before Louise Hay,
But she kind of made it or brought it to the forefront of a lot of people.
Look in the mirror and say stuff.
Like if you look in the mirror,
First thing when you get up in the morning,
Okay,
First thing when I get up in the morning,
I can't even speak.
My husband will be like,
Morning.
And I'll be like,
Literally,
That's exactly what I have to do.
Because I want to acknowledge that he said something,
But then I don't want to be like,
I can't talk,
You know,
So but I go into the bathroom and I look in the mirror.
What do you say to yourself when you do that?
I mean,
We all look at ourselves in the mirror,
Right?
So what do you say to yourself when you look at yourself in the mirror?
What do you say?
Do you say,
Oh,
Goodness?
Or do you say hi?
In a weird sort of way?
Or do you say,
Good morning,
I love you?
Pretty crazy,
Right?
To look at yourself in the mirror,
And I'm telling you,
It sounds so easy to do,
But it's not.
To look yourself to honestly and like really intentional.
Intentionally,
Yes,
Intentionally.
Look yourself in the mirror and say,
I love you.
That can be so daunting for some people.
Or you can look at yourself in the mirror,
If you know,
And say,
I am courageous.
That's my one.
In sharing,
Since I'm sharing,
That's like my big one.
You are courageous.
I'll look at myself and I'll point to myself and I'll be like,
You are courageous.
That's mine.
Everybody has their own that like tweaks them and like kind of gets them rolling and gets them out of that thought process of I'm not good enough or oh my gosh,
I'm fat today or I'm oh my God,
I look really tired today.
You know,
That sort of stuff.
You got to find yours.
Right?
But it starts with,
I love you.
Awesome.
So guess what we're meditating on today.
All right,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
If you want to talk about mirror work more,
There's so many references that you can,
That you can,
You know,
I love talking about mirror work.
I'm sure that on some of my other podcasts I've talked about it,
But it's really can be life changing.
I'm not lying when I say it can truly be life changing.
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Oh my gosh.
And let's take a nice deep breath.
Close your eyes.
Take a nice deep breath in and release it.
Perfect.
Very good.
That first deep breath of the day.
Nothing like it.
Right?
In fact,
Let's do that again.
Let's take another really and go slow this time.
Do it really slow just to breathe in that morning air,
That crisp morning air or afternoon air,
Whatever it is,
Whenever you're hearing this.
So breathe in and hold it and release that feeling of having that refreshing air into your body is just amazing.
What are you grateful for today?
As we get ready to sit in the stillness,
What are you grateful for?
What is great today?
What is like really going on in your life that's great?
There's got to be at least one thing,
Right?
There's always one thing.
I'll tell you what I'm grateful for.
Tomorrow I am cleaning stuff out.
You know that that whole old adage of spring cleaning,
Tomorrow's the day,
Man.
So there you go.
What are you grateful for?
So now as we sit in the silence,
Our mantra or affirmation actually for today,
I want us to say this over and over and over.
You guessed it.
I love you.
I love you.
That's our affirmation to ourself as we sit in the silence.
Just repeat it in your mind over and over.
If it gets to be too much or you get emotional,
You can always go back and start focusing on your breath.
It's all okay.
I love you.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Now,
For some of you,
That might have been a pretty emotional meditation to do.
Come back very gently.
Be very gentle with yourself.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and release it.
You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.
I know for me,
It put a huge smile on my face,
But for some,
Maybe there were tears.
For some,
Maybe you couldn't even say it that long.
Loving yourself is the most important thing you can do.
Go on your day knowing that there is love for you.
I really appreciate each and every one of you.
Thank you so much for joining.
As always,
Remember to look in the mirror today and say I love you or something kind to yourself.
Okay,
Great.
Until next time,
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
