Welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert,
A brief,
Positivity-inspiring chat and meditation designed to uplift and motivate us to live our best lives.
Let's get in the flow.
My question for you all today is this.
Do you feel like you are a good communicator?
When you're having a conversation with someone,
Do you feel like you are able to truly get your point across?
And if you can't,
Or if you don't feel like you're doing that,
Do you feel that feeling of disappointment and frustration,
Maybe even low self-esteem?
So today what I want to talk about is the throat chakra.
The throat chakra is the fifth of the seven major chakras,
And it sits in the middle of the larynx,
Which is the throat,
Clearly.
It is a beautiful bright blue color,
And its energy is just.
.
.
I like to think of it as bright and sparkly.
That's kind of how I enjoy thinking about all of the colors of the chakras and stuff.
So the throat chakra's Sanskrit name is Vishuddha.
And interestingly,
When I talk about the throat chakra,
I like to get into the fact that this throat chakra is actually closely related to the second chakra,
Which is the sacral chakra.
And why is that?
Because when we are feeling fully self-expressed,
That's creative,
Right?
We're feeling fully self-expressed creatively,
And at one with who we are.
And that sort of goes along with what the sacral chakra is there for us as well.
Very interesting,
Right?
All of the chakras are amazing to talk about,
But the throat chakra is just,
To me,
It's so important because it's important to be and to feel fully self-expressed and at one with who we are within.
So when you're feeling that way,
You might feel that this particular chakra is balanced,
Right?
If you feel like you are being your truth within.
So if you feel seen and heard and understood,
That might mean that your throat chakra is in balance.
It's pretty balanced,
Right?
Whenever you feel heard.
However,
If you feel a low self-esteem,
You feel misunderstood,
Or you feel like that the words just don't come and you're not communicating properly,
That you just aren't expressive enough,
That could mean that your throat chakra is a bit unbalanced,
Right?
So,
And here's like another little interesting thing.
You might not realize this,
But your chakras can be too open,
Right?
So when you say unbalanced,
That might mean not open enough,
Or it might mean too open.
And the reason why I know that is because I've,
Over the course of like my life,
I feel like that my throat chakra has been a little too open.
And what happens is sometimes I feel like that I am a little too self-expressed,
Right?
So I try to,
And this isn't necessarily a good thing,
But I'll feel that and I'll think to myself,
Okay,
Let's pull ourselves back a little bit.
And I try to pull in that energy,
But I determined,
You know,
In doing that,
That's not necessarily healthy.
Being fully self-expressed can mean all sorts of different things.
So the question is,
How do we fix this so that we are in balance?
How do we promote the healing or balancing of the throat chakra?
Because we want to feel fully self-expressed.
We want to listen in a really powerful way.
Right?
So here are a few ideas that can help you get back into balance,
Okay?
So the color of the throat chakra is blue,
Okay?
It's blue.
I like,
Again,
I like to look at it or consider it to be like a sparkly blue.
Because I,
All of the chakras,
Just because sparkly means healthy to me,
You know,
Or it can mean,
Right?
So,
But there's a couple things that you can also do.
You can carry around,
There's a couple crystals that sort of are associated with the throat chakra,
Which is lapis lazuli,
Which is,
Oh my God,
It's so beautiful.
I should,
I can't believe I didn't wear any today or have them here,
But lapis lazuli,
Turquoise.
That's one of my favorite,
Right?
Because it's also,
It's also protecting,
Right?
So turquoise has a lot of really amazing,
Powerful traits to it,
Right?
Aquamarine,
You know,
If you want to carry those around,
You know.
Now,
Essential oils.
You could,
You know,
Bring out some eucalyptus or rosemary.
Okay,
Right?
So,
But now let's talk about a few of,
And these are a few more practical,
More everyday.
I mean,
You can carry around your crystals and all that stuff,
But now I want to talk about a couple ways to really speak your truth and more practical ways to do this,
Right?
The number one thing,
And this is like so important in so many ways,
Is to journal.
Journaling can open up your throat chakra and allow you,
And this is why I love in terms of,
And I know this is sort of off topic,
But manifestation,
Right?
So when you,
When you speak your truth,
You're writing it down in your journal,
Right?
That is an incredible way to start to manifest your life.
Because you can journal when you're journaling and you're being your truth because nobody else is going to read it but you,
Right?
So when you're journaling,
And you are being that pie in the sky and you are telling your truth to you,
That is very,
Very healing.
Very,
Very,
Very healing.
So,
And then of course there's wearing more blue and you could do a Reiki session with somebody to,
You know,
That would be,
You know,
Just having that energy,
Healing energy coming into you.
That can be great.
And in our meditation today,
I'm going to infuse it with some beautiful,
Compassionate chakra energy,
Throat chakra energy,
I guess I should say.
So we're going to do that in a second.
But,
You know,
I want,
I want you guys to know that it's not the easiest thing in the world to speak and live and be your truth.
But when you start,
When you allow yourself to be your own personal truth,
There is a freedom that opens up with that.
That is like nothing else.
So we are going to meditate on this today.
Yes.
Yay.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable because this,
This meditation,
I,
I'm so excited for this meditation.
I hope that it inspires everyone to live in a place of ease and flow.
Okay,
So let's start to sit comfortably.
Let's sit comfortably.
Close your eyes.
And begin to relax your body.
Let's allow ourselves to begin breathing slowly and deeply in and out for a few breaths.
Feeling the healing breath coming into our bodies.
And now let's place our attention on our throat chakra.
The chakra that allows us to be who we are without regrets.
Feeling blissful and fulfilling.
Opening this chakra allows us to invite in confidence to live and speak and be our own personal truth.
Our mantra affirmation for today.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
As we repeat this mantra over and over to ourselves,
Keep your attention on your throat and allow in truth.
The truth centered energy from spirit.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
I express myself with ease and flow and listen to others with pure grace.
Namaste.
