You are simply a speck of dust in this cosmic maze.
To be mindful,
You must become consciously aware of your existence.
Often you may try to distract or disappear from discomfort in your daily happenings,
But this will only create more chaos within the mind.
Listen to your breathing,
To the sounds around you.
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable.
You don't have to do anything or be anywhere but right here in this moment.
As you inhale,
Feel the breath fill your belly and then your chest.
As you exhale,
Notice the temperature as it leaves your nostrils.
You don't have to force the breath to move.
Simply observe it as it cycles through your body.
Giving oxygen to your cells,
Your body sustains you.
You don't tell your heart to beat.
You have no control over the growth process of your hair.
You are an amazing regenerative being.
Come back to your breath,
Noticing how it feels to breathe in.
Noticing how it feels to breathe out.
If you practice being in the present moment often,
You will flow with life because you know that you are life.
At the sound of the bell,
You can open your eyes.
Appreciate yourself for taking a moment to pause and acknowledge your astonishing existence in this space and time.
