On today's five-minute activation,
We're going to talk about negotiation.
Have you ever heard the saying,
Everything's negotiable?
Well,
In some ways,
It's true.
Do you believe it?
We're often willing to negotiate on things that maybe should not be negotiable in our lives.
However,
We're often not willing to negotiate in places where we should.
This can stand in the way of our love and our money increasing in our lives.
Let's take love first.
If you're unwilling to negotiate and your rules are too strict,
You may be putting up walls between you and your partner or the people you love.
Setting boundaries is so important,
But boundaries are not walls.
So be willing to negotiate where negotiation is acceptable for your life.
However,
Those places that are non-negotiables,
Like serious deal breakers for you,
I mean like your core values,
Not your preferences.
Be willing to negotiate on your preferences,
But stay steadfast to your values and convictions.
Now let's talk a little bit about negotiating and money.
Did you know that you can negotiate with your credit card companies?
Yes,
You can.
You can negotiate your interest rate.
You can negotiate your due date.
So go ahead and try it.
Do it.
Now I'll warn you,
Not every bank is going to be willing to negotiate at the time you're willing to negotiate,
But you'll have to stay focused and keep asking.
So maybe one day you call your credit card company and you ask if you can negotiate your rate or if there's a lower rate.
Maybe you've had the credit card for a long time at that high interest rate and it may be time for them to consider lowering your interest rate.
Maybe letting them know,
This is why I don't use your card.
Your interest rate is too high.
And even if you're not carrying a balance,
You still want to negotiate your interest rate.
You never know what will happen.
Having a low interest rate makes borrowing possible.
So a lot of times you'll have the low introductory rate and then after that it shoots up.
Well,
You know,
Before it shoots up,
You can call and have a conversation with them.
You can even negotiate your annual fee.
Let's say they waive the annual fee the first year.
You can call before they charge the annual fee and see if they'll negotiate with you to waive the annual fee just one more time.
Believe it or not,
All of this is possible.
Moving your due date is possible.
Make the credit card work for you.
Remember they need you just as much as you need them.
Just be open to negotiation.
And where we believe that negotiation is not possible,
Let's try it anyway.
And then in those places where we really need to stand our ground,
Stick to our convictions and our core values.
Don't negotiate there.
Find the harmony in where to negotiate and where to stand your ground.
When it comes to your money,
Push the limits,
Ask for more.
It's your money.
Don't you be afraid.
And I know some people think if you're negotiating,
Then it means you don't have money.
Oh,
Please,
You'll have more money if you negotiate.
Don't even let it bother you.
Who cares what they think?
Just look at your bank account and smile.
And when it comes to your love,
Be willing to negotiate when you know it's truly the right thing.
When you know it's just your preference,
Not your value.
When it's your preference,
Negotiate.
So that's our five minute activation for today.
Go out there and negotiate.
