Grow with the flow.
You've probably heard me say that before.
Grow with the flow.
Maybe you've already applied meaning to it or translated it to your life.
Maybe you haven't.
I'd like to do that today with intention.
Growth is powerful,
But often looked at as painful.
Humans often resist growth not realizing that not only is it essential to survival,
Remember the saying that which does not kill me only makes me stronger,
But growth also enhances life.
Have you heard the story about the lobster where the lobster has to go under a rock and shed its shell because it's growing and as it grows the shell becomes painful and so it knows that when it becomes painful it's time to grow and it doesn't resist that growth it allows it.
Now the lobster becomes vulnerable without a shell during that time it doesn't have a shell and it is vulnerable but it knows that it just means that it's growing and it's going to have a bigger shell and this happens with crabs and all kind of other animals.
But humans we resist growth sometimes.
Imagine an area of your life that you've grown in.
Recall it.
Recall what life was like before your growth.
Think about it right now.
Before your growth was it frustrating,
Hurtful,
And what did it feel like after your growth?
After your growth did you find peace or see things differently?
That's usually what happens after growth.
We release the burden to feel lighter and more peaceful.
Yet despite this peace that's coming we resist growth.
Why is that?
Growth can happen slowly or it can happen quickly.
If you've ever planted anything you may remember that it didn't happen overnight.
At least not usually.
I once started an herb garden and I noticed that each herb grew differently in its own time and in its own way.
I couldn't see it but I sensed the seeds were opening up in the soil and the roots were growing even though it was happening underneath the soil.
I couldn't see it but growth was still happening.
It may be painful for the seed to crack open and become an herb but the herb knows it has a destiny.
The herb welcomes that destiny and it knows that it has to grow in order to reach it so that it may show up in the world the way it truly desires.
This is an example of slow growth.
You have to give yourself time and credit for the growth that's happening underneath your soil.
Progress is important.
When I was growing my herb garden some of the herbs took 30 days to bloom but if I gave up on let's say day 22 then I would have missed out on the beauty the herb would have displayed in just a few short days.
Give yourself time to bloom.
Let growth happen.
Embrace and recognize it.
Reflect on your past growth today.
Smile as you recall the way you used to show up and think about the way you show up now.
One small change added over time.
Repetition equals personal growth.
Allow growth to happen.
Try not to resist.
Growth is normal and it's for your best and highest good.
Don't spend time trying to find examples of when growth wasn't for your best and highest good or didn't show up in your favor.
Trust me there are none.
It's for your best and highest good and if it didn't bring peace maybe you didn't grow or maybe you did and it happened underneath the soil.
You didn't recognize it.
No more resistance.
Remember you get the lesson until you get the lesson.
So grow with the flow.
Find your peace.
And that's our five minute activation for today.
I'll see you next time.
