I've been influenced by a wide variety of teachers, spanning many different traditions. My intent is to synthesize the teaching into meditation that's accessible to the general public. This was my motivation for writing a primer for beginning meditators, "Meditation Illuminated: Simple Ways to Manage Your Busy Mind." I've been a meditator for more than 30 years, and teaching meditation since 2008.

I like to offer short, 2 and 3 minute meditations, so people can fit meditation in on days when there's not much time to practice. I believe that it's more important to develop a habit of meditating every day-even for short periods of time-than to set an expectation of meditating for longer periods that could be challenging to meet. I also offer longer meditations for days when there's more time to practice. I believe in incorporating "mindful moments" into your day, for example, pausing to notice the feeling of the water as you wash your hands or noticing the soles of your feet as then touch the ground when you walk.
