I use human design in my practice to support people with reconnecting to themselves and aligning with their natural energy in the ways it was always meant to flow.
Today we're going to explore one of the most foundational aspects of human design,
The five energy types.
Your energy type is like the starting point for understanding how your energy naturally moves through life.
It helps you know how you are designed to interact with the world around you,
What your strengths are,
And what can create unnecessary resistance if you're not honoring your natural flow.
There are five energy types in human design.
Manifestors,
Generators,
Manifesting generators,
Projectors,
And reflectors.
Each type has its own way of operating,
Its own gifts,
And its own strategy for how to move through life with more ease.
Let's start with manifestors.
Manifestors are the initiators,
The ones here to spark new ideas and set things in motion.
They have a powerful energy to get things started but aren't necessarily designed to carry things through to completion.
When manifestors honor their need for freedom and rest,
They can bring groundbreaking ideas into the world without burning out.
Generators are the builders,
The ones who bring things to life through their consistent energy and deep satisfaction.
Generators thrive when they are doing work that lights them up,
Responding to what life brings them rather than trying to force things to happen.
Their energy is magnetic and can uplift those around them when they are in their flow.
Manifesting generators are the passionate multitaskers,
A hybrid of both manifestors and generators.
They move quickly,
Love variety,
And are here to master multiple passions.
They often take a non-linear path,
Skipping steps,
And moving between interests which can challenge traditional ideas about how things should be done,
But it's exactly how their energy works best.
Both generators and manifesting generators are the only types to have a defined sacral energy center.
That is the energy center that fuels their sustainable workforce energy,
Allowing them to work and produce at the high levels they're capable of.
Projectors are the guides,
The ones who see the bigger picture and help others use their energy more efficiently.
Projectors thrive when they feel recognized and are invited to share their insights.
They're not here to work long hours like generator types,
But their wisdom and guidance are essential to how energy moves through the world.
And the fifth type,
Reflectors,
They are the mirrors.
They're the ones who show us the health of our communities and environments.
Reflectors are deeply sensitive to their surroundings and need time and space to process what they're picking up.
Their wisdom comes from seeing the patterns and energies around them and offering a unique perspective to those they interact with.
Each of the types carry a unique energy and when we are aware of our energy type and feel empowered to embody it fully,
We each have the opportunity to contribute our gifts to the world in the ways that align naturally for us,
Which fuels our fulfillment and purpose while being in aligned service to others.
One type isn't better or more important than another.
Each type plays a vital role in the whole,
But society often glorifies certain aspects of these types,
Making it seem like the way to be successful is to embody all of them at once.
The sustainable,
Hard-working energy of the generator,
The initiation energy of manifestors,
The effortless multitasking of manifesting generators,
And the leadership energy of projectors are often put on a pedestal of their own.
This can create pressure to master all these energies in one being,
But none of us are designed to operate that way.
The non-sacral beings,
Our manifestors,
Projectors,
And reflectors,
Can get easily burnt out trying to perform like generators.
Generators can find themselves in unfulfilling work when they feel pressured to initiate like manifestors.
When we align with our own energy,
We naturally flow better and attract the right energy we need at the right time,
Like manifestors sparking visions and generators bringing them to life.

The difference between sacral and non-sacral beings,
How our openness and definition shape our experiences,
And how conditioning influences how we show up in the world.
