This is the story of Little Jack and the John Javirus.

Written by Jolene Joy Moss.

Once upon a time,

There was a little boy named Jack,

And he went to preschool.

Jack had a big sister named Emmalina.

She was much,

Much bigger and was seven whole years old.

She went to school,

School.

Every week,

Little Jack went to preschool for three hours a day,

And he learned all about his favorite letters,

J for Jack and E for Emmalina.

But one day,

Mama said,

Little Jack,

Emmalina,

Today we are staying home from school.

There was a little tiny thing floating in the air called John Javirus.

Now the John Javirus had a lot of friends and family that were also called virus,

Like flu virus and cold virus,

And all of them liked to land on people.

Well,

People didn't like these viruses very much because they could make the people sick inside.

But the John Javirus was kind of special.

The John Javirus had ninja stealth powers and could hide and hide for weeks before the people even knew it was there.

And the John Javirus had super flying powers that let it float in the air for hours,

Sometimes after it was coughed or sneezed out.

So all the people decided to stay at home from school and outsmart that stinky little John Javirus.

The big staying at home time was called quarantine.

Little Jack liked to play warrior and wanted to help defeat the John Javirus.

So Mama taught him the most powerful weapon in the house.

It was the soap and water from the sink.

The only way to send the John Javirus away,

Said Mama,

Is to wash,

Wash,

Wash so carefully on our hands.

Little Jack got a splash of water and a squirt of soap and showed Mama how he learned to wash between his fingers.

Look,

Said Mama,

The soap is like a little magnet and pulls the John Javirus right off our hands.

And the water takes it down the drain,

Said Little Jack.

That's right,

Said Mama.

And the soap also eats off the armor on the John Javirus.

And the virus doesn't cause much trouble after it loses its armor.

Yay,

Said Little Jack.

Take that,

John Javirus.

Hi-ya.

And he washed his hands super ninja style.

Thank you so much!!!! My 4 year old asks why sheโ€™s not at school or why we need masks, and Iโ€™ve tried explaining it on her level but she didnโ€™t really understand until this story. Thank you!
