After hiking through the Black Hills in South Dakota, this piece was named after the awe-inspiring views atop its namesake. Formally Harney Peak, renamed Black Elk Peak after the famed Sioux medicine man, it is the highest peak between the Rockies and the French Pyrenees Mountains in Europe. The vastness and pure ruggedness of the area made for an adventurous day.
