Welcome,
To this guided meditation called awakening at the mystic falls.
Sit or lay in a position that is comfortable for you,
Let your hands rest gently by your sides or on your lap,
Soften your gaze or gently close your eyes.
Let's begin by taking 3 slow mindful breaths,
Gently settle the body and bring the mind to stillness.
Inhale slowly through your nose,
Hold for a moment,
Exhale gently through your mouth letting your shoulders drop.
Inhale deeply,
Fill your lungs with fresh air,
Pause,
Exhale slowly as if you are sighing out any stress or tension.
Inhale with awareness,
Noticing how the air feels entering your body,
Exhale fully and completely,
Fully grounding yourself.
We will now conduct a mindfulness practice,
Take a moment to centre yourself,
Notice your body,
Feel your feet on the floor or the weight of your body where you are sitting or lying,
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
Bring your attention to your breath,
You don't need to change it,
Just notice it.
Feel the inhale and exhale,
Feel where the breath moves,
Through your nose,
In your chest,
In your belly.
If your mind wanders,
Gently guard it back to the breath,
Take one breath at a time.
Now slowly bring your attention through your body,
It's like a gentle spotlight,
Start at the top of your head,
Notice any sensations,
Move to your forehead,
Eyes,
Jaw,
Is there any tension,
If there is any tension,
Just relax,
Let your awareness move down to your neck and shoulders,
Notice how they feel,
Continue down your arms,
Hands and fingers.
Bring attention to your chest and belly,
Feel the rise and fall of your breath,
Move to your hips,
Thighs,
Knees and calves,
Finally feel your ankles,
Feet and toes,
Notice the points of contact with the ground,
Now gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings,
Notice how your body feels,
Make any body adjustments you need.
Let us begin the guided meditation.
You begin walking through a forest that is familiar to you.
You have walked this path many times before,
Each step comforting in its repetition.
By your side is your faithful dog,
She is always with you,
Her tail wagging,
Her eyes loyalty and joy.
The trail leads down a soft hill,
Across golden grasslands and rocky pathways.
It's a beautiful sunny day,
It's dry but a soft cooling breeze brushes across your skin,
The air feels alive.
As you walk,
You hear birds overhead,
Flitting from tree to tree,
Calling to each other in soft musical tones.
The sound of the forest embraces you like an old friend.
You catch the distant murmur of water,
A waterfall hidden somewhere ahead.
You follow the sound,
And before long you come across a gentle stream,
Trickling over smooth stones.
The water glistens in the sun,
It flows with ease and grace.
You sit down nearby,
Letting you become aware of your body and surroundings.
Frogs begin to croak softly around you,
Joining the song of the forest.
You close your eyes and take a deep mindful breath,
Inhaling peace,
Exhaling heaviness.
Your dog,
Ever curious,
Begins to nudge you gently,
Encouraging you to keep moving.
You open your eyes and smile,
Watching as she trots ahead,
Disappearing behind low hanging branches and climbing over rocks.
You follow her with a renewed sense of curiosity.
The stream continues on the other side of the brush,
Weaving its way through vines and thick greenery.
You climb over rocks and duck under the undergrowth.
Pushing aside a large fern,
You step forward,
And then you pause.
Your breath catches.
Before you is something unexpected,
It's as if you've passed through a hidden gateway.
The light changes,
It's softer,
More golden.
The air is cleaner,
Tingling with untouched energy.
The green of the leaves seem more vivid.
You've stepped into an enchanted forest,
A sacred,
Unseen world.
All around you,
It's teeming with life.
The forest here is lush and glowing.
You see ferns.
Rocks are covered in moss and lichen.
Rock orchards with delicate white flowers hang like nature's jewels.
Elkhorns and staghorns adorn the trees like ornaments from ancient times.
It feels alive,
Magical,
And protected.
The stream has become a crystal clear creek,
Its waters tinged with soft blue-green hues.
Mist hovers gently above the surface,
Dancing with light.
You can see straight to the bottom,
Stones smooth as glass,
Resting undisturbed.
Your dog races ahead,
Along the opposite bank,
Tail wagging as she bounces from rock to rock,
Inviting you deeper in.
You cross where the creek is shallow,
Stepping on smooth stones.
The sound of a waterfall grows loudly with every step.
The underbrush is thick,
And you must crouch low or climb over tangled roots and wild growth.
Your dog stays just ahead,
As if she's leading you on a quest.
Eventually,
The forest opens slightly.
You approach a rock wall,
Partly hidden by lantana and vines.
Carefully,
You step around it.
And there it is,
A breathtaking waterfall tumbles down a cliffside.
The sun filters through the canopy,
And where its rays meet the mist,
A rainbow appears,
Delicate and ethereal.
Everything glows.
It has a hazy,
Dreamy,
Almost surreal quality to it.
The rocks are draped in moss,
Surrounded by flowering orchids and ferns.
You are in awe.
The energy is potent and sacred.
You sit on a flat,
Moss-covered stone near the waterfall.
Your dog finally settles,
Curling up peacefully at your feet.
You centre yourself,
And begin to slow your breath.
You inhale,
Pause,
And slowly exhale.
You let the sounds of the waterfall and forest flow through you.
You feel the mist caress your face.
It's cool and gentle.
A tingling sensation begins to grow throughout your body.
It's as if the very energy of this place is merging with your energy field.
Energy gathers at your third eye,
The centre of your inner vision,
And begins to spiral,
Gently opening and expanding.
You surrender to the sensation,
And slowly you lose awareness of your physical body.
You drift inward,
Deeply,
Becoming pure awareness.
In the darkness behind your closed eyes,
You begin to see light.
Tiny bars of white light,
Like glowing threads,
Begin to move and shift.
A radiant circle of light forms at the centre,
Expanding slowly,
Pulsing with sacred energy.
You remain still,
Peaceful,
Not forcing anything,
Only observing.
Time fades.
You're barely breathing as you enter a no breath state.
You bask in gratitude and appreciation for this spiritual awakening at the mystic falls.
Then,
A presence arrives.
It's familiar,
Protective.
It's the spirit of your dog.
A pure white light that gently wraps around you,
Warm and familiar.
And in this moment,
A deep knowing rises within you.
She is your guardian,
Your spirit animal.
This connection is not imagined,
It is real and tangible.
She watches over you as you sleep.
She protects not only you,
But your family.
She is joy,
She is courage,
And she is love without condition.
It's as though time itself has paused,
To let you feel everything all at once.
You continue to rest in stillness,
Just being,
Just receiving.
Eventually,
You feel your awareness beginning to return.
You take a slow,
Deep breath.
You wiggle your fingers and your toes.
You blink your eyes open.
The waterfall is there,
Just as beautiful.
Your dog looks up at you,
It's tail gently wagging.
You smile and rise slowly,
And begin the walk home.
Not just through the forest,
But back into your life.
Renewed,
Grounded,
And awake.
As you leave and move back into the world,
You carry the strength of the earth.
The wisdom of the forest,
And the love of a guardian who never leaves your side.
Sit back and let the world fall away for a few minutes.
This is a moment to be grounded,
And mindful.
A time to rest,
To simply breathe.
To exist in stillness and peace.
