Welcome,
Take a moment to settle into stillness,
Allow your body to soften into the surface beneath you,
Giving yourself full permission to be here and nowhere else to go and nothing else to do.
Let your arms rest gently by your sides,
Relax your jaw,
Soften your shoulders,
And begin to notice your breath,
Not changing it,
Simply witnessing it.
With every inhale,
Invite in ease,
With every exhale,
Allow yourself to release,
Release the effort,
Release the need to do,
Release the need to hold.
This is your time to rest.
Begin bringing awareness to the crown of your head,
Softening the forehead,
Relaxing the space between the eyebrows,
Unclenching the jaw.
Let that softness move down through your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
All the way into your fingertips.
Relax your chest,
Soften your belly,
Allow your hips to grow heavy.
Relax your thighs,
Your knees,
Calves,
Ankles,
And feet,
Feel your entire body supported.
There's nothing for you to force right now,
Just rest.
Now bring awareness to your breath,
Notice the rise of the belly as you inhale and the gentle fall as you exhale.
Each breath is like a wave washing over you,
Steady,
Rhythmic,
Effortless.
As your body relaxes more deeply,
Begin silently repeating,
I am safe to rest,
I am safe to rest.
Let those words settle into your body.
So often we move through life believing we must constantly strive,
Constantly hold everything together but in this moment allow yourself to remember rest is sacred,
Rest is not something to earn,
Rest is your natural state.
Imagine now that you are floating in warm golden light.
This light surrounds your body completely.
It softens every place within you that feels tense.
It nourishes every place within you that feels depleted.
This light asks nothing from you,
It simply holds you.
Rest here,
Breathing gently,
Being gently held and as you rest in the stillness remember you do not have to become more to be whole.
You are already enough in this moment.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to prove,
Nothing to force.
Just breathe.
Feel the body becoming lighter.
The mind becoming quieter and allow yourself to sink into the peace that already exists beneath the noise.
Pause here for a few breaths.
Now begin to deepen your breath.
Invite gentle movement back into the fingers and toes.
Roll the shoulders softly and before returning take one moment to thank yourself for choosing rest,
For honoring your body,
For honoring your being.
Carry the softness with you.
Carry this remembrance that rest is healing,
That stillness is medicine,
That peace lives within you.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back.
