This is a heartfelt prayer that seeks to embody the compassion and love of Jesus. It emphasizes seeing each person as worthy of love, moving with open hands and a heart broken wide, and serving others without seeking applause or weighing the cost. The prayer asks for a spirit that refuses to remain still while others are in need, and a love that doesn't ask "what's in it for me?" but instead whispers "how can I serve?" It calls for feeding more than just stomachs, speaking life into weary souls, and caring with no strings attached. The prayer also seeks to embody Jesus not just in grand moments, but in quiet, hidden ones, and to let compassion be a wildfire born in mercy, igniting grace wherever it touches.

Lord Jesus,

You didn't see a crowd,

You saw each person.

Hungry,

Tired,

Wandering,

And worthy of love.

You didn't lecture,

Didn't pass by,

Didn't weigh the cost or seek applause.

You simply moved.

With open hands and a heart broken wide,

You fed them body and soul.

I want that kind of compassion,

Lord.

Not the polite kind,

Not the rehearsed kind,

But the kind that won't let me sit still while someone else is in need.

Let my heart break the way yours did.

Not out of pity,

But out of love that refuses silence.

Love that doesn't ask what's in it for me,

But whispers instead,

How can I serve?

Grow in me a spirit that says I may not have much,

But here's my bread,

Here's my fish.

Take them,

Lord,

And do something miraculous.

Teach me to feed more than stomachs,

To speak life into weary souls,

To notice the unnoticed,

To care with no strings attached.

When I'm tired,

Remind me that you kept giving.

When I'm empty,

Remind me that you filled baskets from next to nothing.

And when I doubt what that I offer means,

Remind me love multiplies.

Shape me into someone who doesn't just admire you,

But embodies you.

Not just in grand moments,

But in quiet hidden ones,

When no one is watching but you.

Let my compassion be a wildfire born in your mercy,

Igniting grace wherever it touches.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
