I prepare to meditate on non-violence.
If I truly want to change my words and interactions and make them more gentle and effective then there is one thing I have to change first and that is the way I see others.
I take a few slow deep breaths and I Center my being in peace allowing all the muscles to relax.
I visualize myself right now on top of a beautiful mountain peak overlooking the entire world and I see billions of souls.
In this moment I imagine that the scales are suddenly removed from my eyes and I am able to see souls as they truly are.
I am able to see that we are truly spiritual beings having a human experience.
I am able to see that we are brothers and sisters and that we all share a universal experience.
We laugh,
We cry,
We love,
We dream.
Every soul is my spiritual brother and sister on an eternal journey through time.
There truly is no such thing as a stranger.
This vision of brotherhood heals my interactions.
It brings gentleness,
It brings respect,
It brings appreciation and in addition to seeing what is universal with all of us as souls I also need to look at what is uniquely beautiful in each being.
Every soul that crosses my path has some gift,
Some special quality and when I focus on that in them it changes our interaction.
They actually feel that pure vision and it brings benevolence into our relationship.
It brings joy into our relationship.
When I focus on seeing that we are spiritual beings having a human experience,
That we are souls and a global family,
When I focus on the unique beauty of each being I can truly begin to transform the way I interact and speak to the souls around me.
This pure vision is the foundation of non-violent communication.
I leave that mountaintop knowing that I can come back to that vision at any time I wish.
And I come back to my world prepared to change the way I see the souls around me.
