At some point or another, most of us question our lives for meaning. Often it comes about when we go through bad or challenging times; times where we suffer personal loss and difficulties. In this set of 11 meditation commentaries, Raja Yogi Yogesh Sharda reminds us of the importance of awareness, or mindfulness, as a way to extract a deeper meaning from the experiences and scenes we encounter.

Using wisely the energy of my thoughts.

Our greatest asset,

Our greatest possession,

Is the power of our mind.

The mind generates thoughts.

Those thoughts are the very seeds of our lives.

Those thoughts lead to words,

To actions,

To reactions and results.

To be one who meditates regularly means to be a person who values thoughts.

Rather like an athlete who pays attention to diet and exercise in a very natural way.

Similarly,

One who is a meditator builds into life the process of checking thoughts.

If I think too much,

If I waste this precious precious fuel of thought power,

Then the mind becomes tired.

And when the mind is tired,

Then our patience levels reduce,

Our tolerance reduces,

Our ability to understand each other suffers,

And our capacity to make good relations to harmonize with those who are different to us also suffers.

To take care of the mind means to observe my thoughts and to learn to charge the battery of the soul every day.

It is said,

If you know how to take care of your mind,

You know how to take care of your life.

So let us explore how to use the power of our thoughts wisely.
