Settle into your meditation space.
Take a moment to arrange your body in a way that feels comfortable.
You might be sitting down.
Standing or laying down.
In this meditation,
We'll explore the senses.
Allow yourself the freedom to gently move or adjust your position if your body asks for it.
There's no need to hold perfectly still.
Start by noticing your body in the space you're in.
Notice your current state.
Notice your breath.
And slowly begin to widen your awareness.
To each of the senses.
Start with the sound.
Allow sounds to come to you.
Perhaps some are distant.
Somewhere outside of your space.
Others might be closer.
You may even notice the sound of your own breathing.
Without analyzing or naming these sounds,
Simply let them be part of this moment.
Now bring your attention to the sense of touch.
Notice where your body meets the ground.
The chair or the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body being supported.
You may explore the textures around you.
Perhaps the fabric of your clothing.
The surface beneath your hands or your skin.
Your hair.
Notice the more subtle sensations too.
Maybe the gentle movement of air against the skin.
Stay with a feeling of touch for a few moments.
Now shift your awareness to sight.
If your eyes are closed,
Notice what appears behind the closed lids.
Perhaps darkness.
Or shifting shapes and textures of light.
Maybe there are colors.
If your eyes are open,
Allow your gaze to be soft.
And invite your eyes to rest gently on the space around you.
Notice shapes,
Colors,
Or movement.
No need to focus on anything in particular.
Just let what you see pass through your awareness like cars moving along the street.
Now bring your attention to smell.
Perhaps there's something noticeable in the air.
Scent of food,
Perfume,
Or the room itself.
Maybe the scent is very subtle Just breathe and notice whatever is there.
Recognize it and let it pass.
Finally,
Notice the sense of taste.
Perhaps there is a lingering flavor in the mouth.
Or simply the neutral taste of being here.
Now invite all the senses to exist together.
The sound,
The touch,
The sight,
The smell,
And the taste.
Let them mix and mingle naturally in your awareness.
Stay here for a few more moments.
Give yourself a full permission to experience what is already here.
When you're ready,
Take one slow breath in.
A steady breath out.
And slowly start to transition back into your day
