Welcome to Hive Mindfulness.
Meditations for curious kids.
Hello little unicorn.
It looks like you've had a long day and are starting to get tired.
That makes sense.
You've been busy exploring and playing with your friends all day.
Pretty soon,
It's going to be time to relax and get ready for a good night's sleep.
It is a beautiful evening.
It seems like you would like to spend a bit more time outside before you go to bed.
That is a wonderful idea.
The sunset is beautiful tonight.
Take a moment to enjoy the soft streaks of pink,
Purple,
Orange,
And yellow that are glowing above the horizon as the rest of the sky turns a soft grey.
Even the clouds above the sunset are colourful,
Fluffy and pink,
Like cotton candy floating over the landscape.
Yummy!
The world is so peaceful right now with the warm,
Soft breeze blowing.
Can you feel it in your skin,
Or blowing through your mane,
Or on your horn?
It is quite quiet,
Little unicorn,
But if you listen carefully,
You can hear the sounds of nature all around you.
Can you hear the bugs singing their sleepy song,
The running of water,
In the stream,
The sounds of animals and other magical creatures as they make their way home for bed?
Now it is time for you to head home.
Come on now,
Little unicorn.
Head on up the little grassy hill.
There you go.
As you climb on up,
Make sure you take a look at all the lovely wildflowers growing around you.
They are all kinds of different shapes and colours.
Can you smell them in the air as you climb?
Ah,
I see you stopped to enjoy the flowers.
Which ones are your favourite?
What do they look like?
Now take a deep breath and enjoy their scrumptious,
Lovely smell.
What do they smell like?
Ah,
I see another flower has caught your eye.
What colour is this one?
Why don't you lean in and touch it with your nuzzle?
This one smells wonderful too.
Now it is time to keep climbing.
You are almost at the top of the hill,
And there it is.
Your favourite way home.
The Rainbow of Calm.
It is so marvellous how the Rainbow of Calm glows as it extends off the top of the hill,
Each colour shining gently,
With sparkles all over it.
Now it is time to climb up onto the rainbow.
As you put your first hoof on the rainbow,
Feel how comfortable and pleasant it suddenly feels.
It is as if all the muscles in that hoof are fully relaxed.
Now climb right onto the rainbow and observe how that comfortable,
Soothing feeling spreads throughout your whole body,
From your feet to your legs,
Up through your belly and back,
Down your arms to your hands,
And up your neck,
Face,
And right to the top of your horn.
You feel light and free.
It almost feels like you can fly,
Like your cousin Pegasus.
And walking along the rainbow is almost like flying.
It really is walking on air,
Glowing,
Beautiful,
Sparkling air,
Softer and cushier than anything you could ever walk on on the ground.
As you make your way home,
You watch your hooves step up and down on the rainbow's soft,
Squishy surface,
And then watch the surface bounce back up as you move your hoof away,
Down and up,
Down and up.
The glow of the rainbow seems brighter now,
As the sunlight is fading away and the sky is a darker grey.
As you step off the rainbow,
You see your home forest and the little clearing under a group of trees where you sleep at night.
You make your way to your comfortable clearing and lie down on the soft bed of moss and grass that you rest on every night.
You are very tired from your day of exploring and playing with your friends and the animals.
You feel your eyelids get heavy and your whole body relax into your cozy spot.
You can still see the slight glow of the rainbow at the edge of the forest,
But under the canopy of trees,
It is pleasantly dark and sleepy.
You listen to the familiar sounds of the forest,
The song of insects,
The squirrels chattering to their families as they say goodnight,
And tuck them into their tree hole beds.
Somewhere in the distance is the hoot of Wise Grandmother Owl.
You are lucky to have such an amazing home filled with so many wonderful creatures.
As you close your eyes completely,
You feel grateful for all that you have been given.
And quietly to yourself,
You say goodnight to all of your neighbors,
Goodnight birds,
Goodnight mushrooms,
Goodnight fairies,
Goodnight bunnies,
Goodnight trees,
Goodnight little unicorn.
