Hello,
My name is Hilary Lafon and I'm so grateful that you joined me for today's pro tip,
Pairing and attaching a goal to another.
If you've listened to my previous pro tip,
We talked about setting small bite-sized goals.
Today I want to talk about attaching a new goal or something we want to make a habit to something already established.
This ups the chance that we will continue with it,
That we'll remember it and that it will become a habit in itself.
For instance,
Many folks floss their teeth before or after they brush their teeth.
This is an example of pairing two activities together to make sure it gets done.
So if you want to add more water into your life,
One thing you can do is put a cup in the bathroom so that after you brush your teeth and floss,
You drink a full cup of water.
Most of us can stand to have a little bit more water in our day so this is an easy example to show how great pairing and attaching a goal to another one is.
Before we continue,
Close your eyes,
Settle in,
Relax your body,
Allow yourself to be really present right here,
Right now so you can come up with a way that you can attach your new goal,
Habit,
Action step to something you're already doing.
As you take deep inhales and long exhales,
Feel your body soften and relax.
Any muscles that are tense,
Allow them to open,
Expand.
Feel yourself grounded and rooted,
Stable and strong.
And listen to what your heart is telling you.
What could you pair in your life to help you remember to commit,
To complete,
To put into practice?
Breathing,
Settling,
Relaxing,
Make a commitment right here,
Right now to do something later today or tomorrow to help you become the best version of yourself.
Breathing,
Softening,
Letting your needs bubble to the surface and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Thank you so much for allowing me the precious gift of your time.
I hope this little pro tip was helpful.
Feel free to leave any comments or reach out.
Until next time,
Be well.
