Take a deep breath in.
Hold it briefly,
Then release it slowly.
Letting your body begin to relax with each breath.
Listen.
The sound of the rain can be so relaxing.
And it would be fine for you to keep your eyes closed now.
And listen to my voice as you allow your body to find calmness.
As you listen,
Focus on your breathing.
Take slow,
Deep breaths,
Feeling the air move down through your throat,
Filling your lungs,
And noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
With each breath out,
Let go of any stress or tension,
Allowing any distracting thoughts to gradually slow down as you relax deeper and deeper.
And focus now on each part of your body,
Slowly,
Relaxing from your head down to your toes.
Allow yourself to sink further into comfort with each breath,
As if every muscle and fiber in your body is letting go of tension.
And imagine a gentle wave of relaxation,
Starting at the top of your head and moving slowly down your body,
Easing every muscle,
Filling you with a sense of warmth and calmness.
Turn your attention to your feet,
Feeling the tiny muscles and tissues there,
As if you're finally releasing any tension held from a long,
Exhausting day.
All the tension,
All the tightness,
Just draining away,
Draining away down through your legs,
Your calves,
And the relaxation can continue.
As the relaxation travels upwards,
Feeling that comfort spreading through your hips,
Into your lower back,
Up along your spine,
And releasing any tension.
As the relaxation moves through you,
Your shoulders relax as the soothing warmth flows over them,
Down your arms and into your hands and fingertips.
Letting go of any remaining stress and strain.
What a wonderful time for you,
A peaceful moment with nothing demanded of you,
And thoughts may drift through your mind.
But just let them move gently past,
Just like clouds in a calm sky,
Leaving your mind clear and still.
And take a moment now to imagine yourself sitting in a beautiful place,
In a cosy,
Comfy chair.
Perhaps somewhere outdoors.
And I'd like you to gaze up to the sky and concentrate on the word peace.
I wonder what comes to mind for you when you think of this word peace.
Whatever the word peace brings to mind,
Just take a nice,
Slow,
Deep breath up through your nose.
And then release gently out through your mouth a long,
Slow breath that's so relaxing to your nervous system.
And when you're ready,
Take another nice,
Deep breath up through your nose and then gently release out through your mouth or nose if you prefer.
Just breathing in the peace,
The quiet,
The tranquility.
And just continue to breathe consciously and purposely noticing the rise and fall of your ribcage.
And perhaps as you do so,
You begin to notice any sensations or perhaps some soothing feelings within you.
Remembering that word peace as you relax here letting yourself becoming part of that peace.
And sensing the feeling of peace around you.
Enjoy this time your time just soaking up the relaxing feelings a time when your body and mind can re-energize.
