Welcome to the ceremonial plant spirit meditation with hibiscus.
You may wish to light a candle,
Place a bowl of water nearby,
Or sit near a living plant.
This is a ceremony of remembrance.
Begin seated,
Spine tall but on force,
A living stem between earth and sky.
Close your eyes,
Bring one hand to your heart and one to your belly.
Take a slow inhale through the nose and a soft exhale through the mouth.
Again,
Arriving,
Softening,
Listening.
Invocation of earth.
Beneath you is soil,
Dark,
Fertile,
Ancient.
Imagine your body growing roots downward,
Deep into the body of the earth,
Through stone,
Through sediment,
Through memory.
Whisper inwardly,
Great earth,
Holder of all blooming things,
Anchor me in belonging.
Feel the steadiness of earth.
Feel your bones heavy and supported.
Feel the quiet patience of roots that do not rush their becoming.
Hibiscus grows from this steadiness.
Its boldness is born of grounding.
Breathe here.
Receive the strength of soil.
Invocation of water.
Now sense moisture in the earth.
Underground streams feeding hidden roots.
Water rises slowly through the stem of hibiscus.
Cool,
Nourishing,
Life-giving.
Whisper inwardly,
Sacred waters,
Rivers of feeling,
Teach me to soften and flow.
Feel into your emotional body.
Where have you hardened?
Where are you longing to be irrigated with tenderness?
Imagine a gentle rose-colored water filling your heart.
It loosens grief.
It sweetens self-judgment.
It restores vitality.
Hibiscus carries the medicine of the heart.
Cooling,
Soothing,
Awakening circulation.
Let your chest soften like petals touched by dew.
Invocation of fire.
Now above you,
The sun.
Golden,
Radiant,
Unapologetic.
Its warmth touches the hibiscus bloom and the flower responds by opening wider.
Whisper inwardly,
Sacred fire,
Radiant sun.
Ignite my courage to be seen.
Feel warmth at your sternum,
At your throat,
At your cheeks.
Hibiscus does not bloom in hiding.
It opens extravagantly.
Scarlet,
Coral,
Crimson.
Alive with color.
Imagine a brilliant red-gold light spreading through you.
This is creative fire.
Sensual aliveness.
Life force saying yes to expression.
Let yourself expand slightly in your seat.
Take up space.
Breathe in boldness.
Exhale hesitation.
Invocation of air.
A soft breeze moves through the garden.
Petals flutter but do not cling.
The bloom is open yet unattached.
Whisper inwardly,
Sacred air,
Breath of spirit.
Remind me that beauty is fleeting and that is its power.
Hibiscus blooms magnificently and briefly.
Its petals fall within a day,
Yet it opens fully anyway.
Feel that teaching.
What would it mean to live like that?
To express now.
To love now.
To create now.
Inhale deeply,
As if drawing inspiration from the wind itself.
Exhale,
Releasing the need for permanence.
Entering the temple of the bloom.
Now envision a single hibiscus flower before you.
Vast.
Luminous.
Step toward it.
Step inside it.
You are seated with velvet petals,
Surrounded by radiant color.
The central stamen rises before you like a golden wand of vitality.
Here in this living temple,
The spirit of hibiscus speaks.
Bloom without apology.
Offer your color even if it trembles.
Let impermanence make you brave.
Place both hands over your heart.
Ask quietly.
Where am I being called to bloom more fully?
Pause and listen.
Do not force an answer.
Let it rise like sap through a stem.
Now feel all four elements within you.
Earth,
Steady in your bones.
Water,
Flowing in your blood.
Fire,
Glowing in your heart.
Air,
Moving through your breath.
You are not separate from the bloom.
You are the bloom.
Your spine,
A stem.
Your heart,
A flower.
Your life,
An offering.
Take three ceremonial breaths.
Inhale,
Rooting into earth.
Exhale,
Softening like water.
Inhale,
Igniting with fire.
Exhale,
Surrendering to air.
Inhale,
Fully alive.
Exhale,
Fully open.
Slowly stepping out of the hibiscus bloom.
Bow inwardly to its spirit.
Thanking the earth.
Thanking the waters.
Thanking the sun.
Thanking the breath.
When you are ready,
Gently opening your eyes.
Thank you for joining me for today's guided meditation.
If you'd like a journaling prompt to follow this meditation,
Feel free to continue listening.
Otherwise,
I hope you have a beautiful day,
And I hope to connect with you again soon.
For those who are interested in creative integration,
A sacred writing prompt could be,
Write a vow beginning with,
In this season of my life,
I choose to bloom by.
.
.
Seal it by placing your hand on your heart and speaking it aloud.
You might also choose to create an elemental mandala using watercolors,
Pastels,
Colored pencils.
Draw a hibiscus at the center of the page and around it represent the earth with stones,
Roots,
Brown and green tones,
Water with blue washes and flowing lines,
Fire with reds,
Golds,
And radiance,
Air with white space,
Spirals,
Breath marks.
Let intuition guide the placement.
