So what is EFT tapping?
EFT tapping is basically a stress reduction technique while you're tapping on different acupressure points on the face and body and at the same time you're tuning into how you're feeling.
Think of it as hitting the reset button on your body's alarm system.
It sends a calming signal to your nervous system and interrupts that stress response.
It sounds a bit weird at first,
But once you give it a try,
You will quickly see how good it is.
What do I say while I'm tapping?
Just tune in to however you're feeling and use your exact words.
You can say the words in your head or you can say them out loud.
You are literally just acknowledging how you are feeling in that moment.
So you might say,
Even though I cannot stop replaying that conversation over and over in my mind,
Right here and now I am safe.
Even though I feel really anxious about this presentation coming up at work.
Right here and now I'm accepting how I feel and then you just literally tap through the points with whatever is going on.
Like,
I can't stop sweating.
I'm panicking.
I'm so nervous.
What if I say the wrong thing?
And just tap through the points of however you're feeling.
Why do we use negative words while tapping rather than positive ones?
I know this bit feels counterintuitive,
Like you're tapping in something negative,
But we're simply just acknowledging the truth of how we feel right now.
Anxious,
Stressed,
Overwhelmed or scared.
By tapping,
While we acknowledge all of these feelings,
We're helping our nervous system calm right down.
We're not dwelling on the negative or anything like that.
We're just acknowledging how we're feeling and tapping on the points so that we can move through it.
Can you tap on positive words too?
Yes,
Once you've done a few rounds,
You'll notice that the intensity starts to come down.
And then you can bring in some positive words something like I choose to feel calm now or I'm starting to let this go or simply I'm breathing in and I'm breathing out.
You'll feel when the time is right to bring the shift in and to bring some positive words in.
How many times should I tap on each point?
There is no set rule around this,
But around 7 times per point.
And you can tap really slowly if you're feeling panicky just to slow everything right down.
And it's really gentle taps.
You don't need to tap really hard.
Does it matter which side I tap on?
It does not matter what side you tap on.
You can tap on both sides with both hands if you want because the points run through both sides of your body.
Whatever feels best.
Sometimes I tap on both,
Sometimes I tap on one,
Just depending on how I'm feeling.
Why do I keep yawning while I tap?
Yawning means that things are shifting in your body and you're starting to release those negative thoughts and feelings.
Your nervous system is responding,
So just keep going.
Do I have to say the words out loud?
Not always,
Especially if you're in a public place.
Sometimes when I used to be out and about,
I used to be in a toilet and I'd silently tap through the points.
So you can say them out loud,
Or in your head,
Both are fine.
The two minute toilet tap is exactly for those kind of moments where you can't say the words out loud,
So you can just listen to it with some earphones and then just tap.
Side it around the point.
Before you dive in,
I just want to say how happy I am that you're here.
These videos are the same tools that my one-to-one clients use as well in between sessions,
So you are already getting the good stuff.
But for now,
Let's get started.
I cannot wait for you to try these videos,
And please let me know how you get on because I love to hear from you guys.
