Hi,
I'm Hayley,
An EFT tapping practitioner.
This tap is for when your anxiety latches onto old mistakes,
Things from last week,
Last year or even years ago that suddenly play on a what-if loop.
In the next few minutes,
We'll calm your body and gently let those mistakes go.
So you can stop going over them.
If any of my words don't quite fit,
Just swap them for your own.
Take a deep breath in and hold at the top.
And side out.
Gently bring to mind one of those old mistakes that keep popping up.
And just notice how strong that feeling is right now from 0 to 10.
We're going to start by tapping on the side of the hand which is the fleshy edge below your little finger and repeat after me either in your head or out loud.
Even though my mind keeps dragging up old mistakes.
Things I'd almost forgotten about.
I'm choosing to accept myself anyway.
Even though things that didn't even bother me at the time are suddenly playing on a what-if loop.
I'm accepting how I feel right now.
Even though part of me thinks that I should have done better.
And I can't stop going over it.
I am safe right here and right now.
We're now going to go to the top of the head using your fingertips on the crown.
All these old mistakes.
We're now going to go to the eyebrow point which is where your eyebrows start just above your nose.
Things from last week.
Last year.
Even years ago.
Side of the eye on the bone at the outside corner of your eye.
They didn't worry me at the time.
Under your eye on the bone just below your eye but now they keep popping up under the nose.
What if I upset them?
What if they still think about it?
What if I got it really wrong?
Just under your collarbone.
My mind keeps replaying it over and over.
Under your arm,
Which is about hands width below your armpit,
And I can feel it in my body,
That sinking feeling in my stomach.
On your wrist if you tap insides of your wrists.
On your wrists,
You can tap the insides of your wrists gently together or use your fingertips.
That heat in my face when I remember.
On your thumb,
The side of your thumb by the base of the nail all this going over it Now we're going to tap on each finger in turn and it's on the side by the base of the nail,
On your index finger,
All these what ifs.
Middle finger.
It's exhausting.
Ring finger I'm so tired of going back over it little finger just noticing all of it right now Take a deep breath in and hold at the top.
And sigh it out.
We're going back to the top of the head.
My anxiety is just looking for something to hold on to.
In between your eyebrows and old mistakes are an easy target.
Side of the eye,
It's my brain trying to keep me safe.
Under the eye,
Checking for danger that isn't there anymore.
Under the nose.
Those moments have passed.
Chin and most people have forgotten long ago.
And your collarbone,
But my mind is still holding on.
Under the arm as if going over it will somehow fix it.
On your wrist as if I have to be perfect to be okay.
Side of your thumb on the nail bed.
This need to get everything right.
Index finger,
This fear of getting it wrong.
Middle finger,
This pressure I put on myself.
Ring finger.
I've been carrying it for so long.
Little finger maybe I can start to put it down Take another deep breath in and hold at the top.
And sigh out.
We're going to go back to the top of the head what if I didn't have to go over it anymore in between the eyebrows,
What if it's okay that I'm not perfect?
Side of the eye,
Nobody gets everything right.
Under the eye,
Everyone makes mistakes.
Under the nose.
Making a mistake doesn't make me a bad person.
I did the best I could with what I knew at the time.
Collarbone and I can let that be enough.
Under the arm.
I'm choosing to soften the self blame.
On the wrist point.
I'm choosing to let these old memories go.
Thumb,
Letting go.
Index finger,
Letting go of the what ifs.
Middle finger,
Letting go of needing to be perfect.
Ring finger,
Making space for something kinder.
Little finger just breathing and letting go.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold at the top and sigh out.
Top of the head,
I'm allowed to make mistakes.
In between the eyebrow.
Mistakes are how I learn and grow.
Side of the eye,
I can look back with kindness.
Under the eye.
The past is the past and I am here now.
Under the nose,
I don't need to replay it back to be safe.
Chin I am letting go of what I no longer need to carry.
Under the collarbone,
I am safe and I am supported.
Under the arm I am learning to be gentle with myself.
On the wrist.
Progress not perfection.
On the thumb,
Calm.
Index finger kind.
Middle finger.
I am a nurse.
Ring finger free little finger.
I am safe.
Take one more slow breath in.
Hold at the top and sigh it out.
Just notice how that's feeling now from 0 to 10 and if it's still high you can just tap through all of that again.
Remember this,
You're allowed to make mistakes and still be okay.
Thank you for tapping with me.
Come back to this whenever an old mistake pops up and let it go a little more each time.
