Gratitude for your personal strengths.
Welcome.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
Let your hands rest naturally.
If it feels right.
Allow your eyes to close.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And a steady breath out Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out Let your shoulders soften slightly.
Let your breathing return to its natural rhythm.
Today,
We are focusing on gratitude for your personal strengths.
Many of us are trained to notice what we still need to improve.
We are often less practised at recognising the qualities that already help us navigate life.
This exercise is not about exaggerating your abilities or comparing yourself with anyone else.
It's about acknowledging the strength you already draw on,
Often without noticing.
Think back to a situation in the recent past that required effort from you.
It could be something small or something more significant.
A difficult conversation.
Busy period at work.
Making a decision.
Or simply continuing when life felt uncertain.
Now ask yourself a simple question.
What helped me get through that situation.
Perhaps it was patience.
Perhaps courage?
Organization.
Kindness,
Persistence.
Or the willingness to ask for help.
Research into character strengths suggests that every person develops a set of qualities that tend to show up repeatedly across different situations.
These qualities might include things like Fairness.
Honesty.
Creativity.
Perseverance or empathy.
Notice which quality seem to be present.
In the situation you have in mind.
Silently name the strength you think you used.
Now,
Reflect on how that strength showed up in your actions.
What did you actually do that reflected this quality?
Consider other moments in your life.
When the same strength may have appeared.
Perhaps in a different setting.
With different people.
Or at another stage in your life.
Let yourself acknowledge this quietly.
This strength has supported me before.
When we recognize our strength.
We are more likely to use them intentionally.
And,
If we use them intentionally,
They tend to grow stronger.
Take a moment to notice one or two additional qualities that you bring into your daily life.
Let yourself acknowledge them with a sense of appreciation.
Now bring your attention back to the strength you identified earlier.
Silently offer a simple acknowledgement to yourself.
Thank you for this strength.
Thank you for helping me move through challenges.
As you move through the rest of your day.
See if you can notice moments when this strength appears again.
Not in any dramatic way.
Just small moments where it quietly shapes how you respond to situations.
Take one slow breath in.
And a steady breath out.
Notice the surface beneath you supporting your body.
Gently begin to move your fingers or your shoulders.
And when you feel ready,
Allow your eyes to open.
Thank yourself for taking this time to recognize the strength that already supports you.
