Releasing Physical Tension
This practice invites you to gently release physical tension by bringing awareness to bodily sensations without trying to fix or change them. Through breath and mindful observation, you’ll support communication between the body and nervous system and create a sense of safety in the present moment. A grounding practice to return to whenever the body feels tight, stressed, or overstimulated.

Welcome to Day 6 of the Nervous System Reset here on Insight Timer,
Where you'll learn how your nervous system responds to stress and how to calm it when life starts to spiral.
Let's jump into today's session.
Hello,
Everyone,
And welcome to Day 6 of Insight Timer's Nervous System Regulation Challenge.
My name is Tremayne,
And today I will be your guide as we bring the body into alignment with our nervous system.
Connecting our physical body with our internal sensations helps create safety in our present environment.
If,
At any moment,
You feel discomfort,
Give yourself permission to pause,
Make adjustments,
Or return your attention to your neutral anchor,
The breath.
I invite you to take inventory of the body and the sensations within.
When ready,
Find a position that feels supportive in your body.
Whether seated or laying down,
Gently adjust until you feel a bit more at ease.
If comfortable,
Notice the places of contact your body makes with the surface beneath you.
Simply notice without changing a thing.
Feel held.
Feel safe.
Feel present.
At your own pace,
You may choose to soften your gaze or close your eyes.
Take a moment to feel your next breath.
Become aware of the body's natural rhythm as you inhale and exhale.
When the body is ready,
You can begin to slowly deepen your inhales and lengthen your exhaled breath,
Perhaps inhaling for a count of four,
Exhaling for five.
Rest here.
Allow the body to experience being.
You may notice tension or stress within the body,
Or you may notice areas of ease and softness.
There is no need to change anything.
Rest knowing whatever shows up is okay.
We are simply here to watch and observe,
Without pressure,
Without fixing.
You may find your mind is full and your thoughts busy,
Or you may be in an undisturbed state of mind,
Tranquil and still.
Stay with what is.
Rest knowing whatever shows up is okay.
We are simply here to watch and observe,
Without pressure,
Without fixing.
You may feel tight or restricted within the body,
Or you may feel relaxed and at peace.
Stay and be.
Rest knowing whatever shows up is okay.
We are simply here to watch and observe,
Without pressure,
Without fixing.
Sensations will arise.
Know that they are temporary and are not harmful.
Recognize them without labeling them as good or bad.
Slowly,
We are training the mind to be aware of discomfort,
So we can unlearn any pain signals within the body.
Taking time to focus on the present creates a bridge to communicate the body with the nervous system.
When ready,
Draw your awareness back into this place and space.
Tune into self and notice a shift.
Perhaps you feel calm,
At peace,
Or clarity within.
Embrace the space you have created for yourself.
And when ready,
You can slowly open your eyes,
Taking in the ambience around you.
Thanks so much for joining everyone,
And great work today.
Namaste.
