A gentle yet powerful audio piece written as an open letter to immigrants. This track honors resilience, courage, and the quiet strength it takes to leave one life behind in search of another. It acknowledges the grief, hope, fear, and determination, often unseen and unspoken. This is a moment of listening, witnessing, and holding space—for the journeys taken, the lives reshaped, and the humanity at the heart of every story.

Transcript

An open letter to all immigrants.

To every soul who crossed a border by choice,

By necessity,

Or by hope.

You are not invisible.

You are not a problem.

You are not a headline.

You are a human being.

In moments like these,

When fear is amplified,

Language hardens,

And policies forget real lives.

It's easy to feel unsteady,

Like the ground beneath you could shift at any moment.

It's exhausting to have your own worth debated,

Your presence questioned,

Your story reduced to numbers.

Please hear this clearly.

Your life has value beyond paperwork,

Politics,

Or public opinion.

You carry languages,

Memories,

Recipes,

Songs,

Skills,

Resilience,

Tenderness.

You carry entire worlds inside you.

You contribute in ways that don't always get counted through care,

Labor,

Creativity,

Community,

And love.

Many of you are holding families together while holding yourselves together.

That is no small thing.

To those who are afraid right now,

Your fear makes sense.

To those who are tired,

Your tiredness makes sense.

To those who feel anger,

Grief,

Or numbness,

These make sense.

You are allowed to rest.

You are allowed to take up space.

You are allowed to dream anyway.

There are people who see you,

Who stand with you,

Who know that this country has always been shaped by movement,

By mixing,

By courage in the face of uncertainty.

You do not walk alone,

Even when it feels that way.

May you remember your strength on the days you feel small.

May you find softness,

Even when the world feels sharp.

May you keep your dignity intact,

No matter how others try to strip it away.

You belong to yourself first,

And your story matters.

With solidarity,

Respect,

And deep humanity,

Grace loose.

This is so beautiful and so needed in these distressing times we’re living in. America is a land of beautiful and powerful immigrants of every race, creed, and sexuality. Together, we will get through this. Love is so much stronger than all this hate. ❤️‍🩹 I’ll be sharing your beautiful words. Thank you. 🙏🏻.
