Welcome to Sitting With Nature meditation.

My name is Colette and it's an honor to be guiding this practice.

Before we begin,

Make sure you are comfortable and when you're ready,

Starting to find your chosen posture.

Whether you are seated upright or laying down,

Just starting to soften your body and give yourself permission to come into stillness.

Softening any tension you may be holding on to in your upper body and your shoulders and even your jaw.

And just allow your tailbone to root down into the earth,

Softening through your legs and your toes.

And begin to check in with your breathing,

Starting to just notice the very natural rise and fall of your breath.

Noticing how your chest rises on your inhale and falls on the exhale.

If you'd like to,

You can begin to deepen or lengthen your breathing or you can choose to just follow your natural breath.

Start to bring your attention to any sounds that you may hear,

Noticing the sounds around you.

And as you continue to breathe,

Noticing how the sounds of the forest make you feel.

Noticing the birds,

The wind between the trees,

Stream in the distance.

For the next few moments,

As you continue to focus on your breath,

Just allowing yourself to sit and experience nature.

Starting to deepen your breathing,

Sensing the support that is holding your body,

Where your body makes contact with the chair or the floor and welcoming yourself in your own time.
