I am so grateful you're here in this amazing world full of love and peace and harmony.
Sometimes it's hard to see past what's happening outside to remember that inside you are not alone.
Who am I?
One of the most challenging questions of all time.
How do I define myself?
I might think I'm a teacher,
An educational assistant,
A farmer,
A mom or dad,
A business person.
But does that capture the true sense of who I am?
These things describe who we are in relation to other people or what we do for a living.
But a more meaningful question to ask is,
Who am I in relation to God?
This may perhaps give us more insight into who we truly are deep inside us.
Who am I in relation to God and how do I fit in his life,
Not how does he fit in my life?
Do you see the difference there?
By putting God in the center of our lives,
I fit in his life,
We have changed our focus,
Our purpose,
Our reason for being.
How am I a part of God's story every moment of the day?
Am I so focused on the internal dialogue of my mind,
Focused on me,
My needs,
My wants,
My regrets,
My sorrows,
That I miss him in each moment of the day?
By making the subtle shift of how am I a part of God's story right now,
We can let go of our hurts,
Disappointments,
Anger,
And pain of the past and we can truly live right now in the glory of this moment with God.
He is with us right now in our hearts.
He is that tiny voice reassuring you that everything is going to be okay.
He's that little butterfly landing on your leg while you're deep inside your thoughts of worry instead of enjoying the majesty of the world around you,
The nature that he's given,
The world that he's created.
Today,
I challenge you to notice,
Notice the butterfly that lands on your leg.
Notice the wind caress your cheek.
Notice the horizon and the beauty that is beyond.
Notice the people around you,
To seek God in them too.
See them while you're speaking,
But most important,
See them while you're listening.
Are you present with the people you were with?
Is your heart full of love?
Or are you thinking about the next thing you want to say?
Are you truly listening to them?
Let God in at that moment so you can be present in each moment,
In each conversation,
In each second of your life.
That is a life worth living.
This gives meaning to your existence.
Who are you?
Well,
You're God's creation.
He loves you just the way you are.
So for a moment,
Sit.
Be present.
Feel your heart and mind with the love of God,
Answering the question with that answer,
I am God's child.
I am precious.
And so too are you.
Remember,
The people you meet,
They are a part of him too.
Have a wonderful day.
