Finding your bliss.

What is it that automatically puts a smile on your face?

Is it seeing someone you love or doing something that you love?

Is it a special place?

Is it being in nature or being with friends and loved ones?

Is it all of these things?

Seeing your bliss fills your heart with joy and satisfaction.

In this life,

What is bliss for you?

Can you find it every day?

Do you seek it?

Does it present itself subtly or is it a rarity?

Is it always present?

I think we get so caught up in the everyday things like work,

Family,

And responsibilities that we miss the bliss,

Miss noticing a spectacular pulse,

A flash in the pan,

A moment that pass us by so quickly,

We barely notice it's there.

Bliss is important in our lives and we must consciously notice it every day.

I'm not talking about running around every day all day in euphoria.

I'm speaking about noticing sacred moments in your day.

That moment when you recognize true beauty,

True perfection,

Even in the ordinary or broken,

Noticing the bliss in the moment.

There are many moments in my day that I recognize as bliss,

Like the light shining in a window or looking out the view off my balcony,

The flight of a bird or the sway of a tree in the wind,

Coming out of a cold grocery store into a hot day or the other way around,

The blissful heat and the blissful cold,

Both equally glorious in their own way,

Taking the time to literally smell the roses,

Staring at my children and trying to imprint that image in my brain so I will never forget it,

Taking in each small detail.

Those moments fill me with so much bliss I could burst.

Maybe looking at bliss in relation to our life,

That our journey begins at birth and the journey is about finding bliss in each moment of each day.

Children show the best example of this.

They notice the bliss in the moment.

Just watch a four year old play soccer.

They'll stop in the middle of a play to look at an insect or a flower,

Letting the ball go.

They capture the moment.

They notice.

They can find bliss so easily.

The question is,

How can we arrive at each moment with awareness and be fully present just as easily?

How can we move from running on autopilot to finding bliss throughout the day in each aspect of our lives?

How can we train our mind and body to pause,

To observe,

To notice what is happening outside and to see how that affects what is happening inside of us?

To notice the feelings we experience when we come upon a blissful moment.

To feel our heart flutter,

A deep serenity pulsing at the core of our being.

To see these experiences not as passing feelings,

But to be an anchor,

Something deep that holds you in the moment.

Perhaps it takes your breath away because in that moment you are truly experiencing life.

You see clearly.

You experience everything about it.

The sights,

Sounds,

Smells,

Feelings,

Everything is so crystal clear,

So clear.

You feel like this moment could last forever.

True awareness,

True perfection,

True joy running through your veins.

Feeling this moment deep within your soul.

That moment where your whole body says ahhh and you embrace it.

Feeling it deeply for as long as it takes.

No rush,

No hurry.

There's only this moment.

Finally when it's time to move on,

You feel a deep gratitude,

Grateful to have recognized the bliss in this spectacular moment.

When we stop and notice what is happening around us,

To us,

Within us,

Being truly present in the moment,

The moments of bliss transcend us,

Bring us to a higher plane of happiness and a joy for existing in this world.

Bliss.

It is in these perfect moments that help us through the other parts of our day that may be more challenging.

Little nuggets of bliss,

Little moments of true awareness,

Transcendence.

Maybe,

Just maybe,

If we notice beauty and feeling bliss more often,

See the beauty of our surroundings,

A smile on a stranger's face,

A flower bursting through a crack in the sidewalk,

A view,

A reflection off the water,

The list goes on and on.

Maybe,

Just maybe,

If we train ourselves to notice the beauty in the moment,

In our world and in each other,

Maybe we won't feel so alone.

Maybe we won't feel so downtrodden,

Exhausted or stressed out.

Maybe living in this moment and noticing the beauty around us right now is what gives our days meaning and worth and happiness.

Seeing some good in this world,

It is there,

It is everywhere and it constantly surrounds us.

Maybe if we train our eye and our mind to capture these magical moments,

We can feel more connected to the world,

To each other and to this beautiful life we create each day.

So today,

Notice,

Look,

Feel the beauty in this world,

In the people,

Even strangers you come upon.

Maybe you are the beauty you bring into someone else's world,

That amazing smile and those kind eyes.

Maybe you are the bridge from this earth to the heavenly realms for them.

Notice,

Pay attention,

Feel the perfection deep within your soul,

Train yourself to feel bliss every day,

Every hour,

Every minute and then you will know transcendence.

You will know peace,

You will know love.

You will know that this life is an amazing and incredible gift.

So today,

Notice,

Seek out and recognize bliss and when you find it,

Bless it and keep finding it.

Thank you for sharing your time with me.

I hope you have a blissful day.
