Sister Cities
This is a gentle, ambient piano piece that invites you to feel deeply calm and content, inviting you to live as your most authentic and gentle self. This piece is inspired by three different cities I have spent a lot of time in. These cities are all "sisters" because they have cultural qualities that are similar. They all have a vibrancy and are places where many artists and creative people live truthfully as themselves. They are also all tolerant and international cities that invite people to be a part of their community. I intended to have all the songs on my "Environments" album be natural spaces, but then I realized that cities are a very natural part of our existence on earth, so I wrote this piece as a peaceful homage to three cities that will always have a piece of my heart. I won't tell you specifically which cities I had in my head as I wrote and recorded the piece, but I hope instead that you have your own cities in mind as you listen.
