I met multi-instrumentalist Dave Hoover in New Mexico while I was on tour. He and I immediately clicked and proceeded to record the musical story of the Santa Fe sky in the form of eight musical meditations. This first piece begins with Dave playing celtic harp and then guzheng. Then, I enter the music with piano and keyboards, opening up the sky. As we play, we begin to musically describe a rain ceremony. As the piano descends, the clouds gather and then burst open quenching the thirsty desert. When the piano and Appalachian mountain dulcimer meet together, the rain water creates pools of red clay as the sun sets. We invite you to wander through this beautiful landscape with us, taking in the spirits of the desert. Speaking to ancestors. And relaxing into a world where the sun and the moon meet.
