Good day.

Welcome to our meditation in Sedona National Forest.

Please find a comfortable position for me that is rooted in a cross-legged seating position that dignified posture.

In today's practice,

I'm going to detail my scenery and decrypt the wisdom nature is presenting to me in this moment.

You may hear sounds of rain trickling against my house.

You might hear birds chirping.

Let us begin.

I mimic the mountain ahead of me,

Finding a strong base in my legs like the rocks that touch the earth's crust.

There is a fog that looms over the plateau of the mountain.

Much like the sleep I awoke from,

It still clouds my mind.

I observe the fog with no judgment and no expectation of what it will bring to our day.

Much like the mountain remains through any weather,

Fog,

Rain,

Snow,

Or even sun.

The mountain is unmoving,

Unaffected,

And undisturbed by such things as I shall be through the weather the day brings to me.

The mountain is built layer upon layer,

Alternating between red sand and lighter rock with distinct shells of limestone that stand out.

We too are built by layers,

Or life events,

Passions,

Values,

Genes,

Influences,

With no one layer defining who you are as a whole.

The mountain stands regardless of the labels we attribute to it.

As such,

We shall stand undeterred by the labels others put on us.

After a day of rain,

I can see water shaving a path on the mountainside.

The water not knowing where it will end up and not affected by a lack of destination.

It only reacts to the present as it wraps around obstacles fluidly.

We too shall not be stopped by obstacles which may arise and instead take them in and work around them effortlessly.

Our day does not come with a destination that we are aware of,

So instead we focus our attention on the present.

Rain trickles down,

Watering the valley below,

Creating life.

As we bring our practice to a close,

Let's invite the movement of rain to bring life to ourselves,

Waking up slowly by wiggling our toes or fingers.

Incrementally small stretches of the wrists and ankles,

Fluttering of the eyes.

Wake up to the space we are in,

Bring the features of the mountain and water into your day.

Thank you for practicing in Sedona with me.

Live life stuck less.
