Hello!
Welcome to this Qigong flow to help release the past and accept the present.
So this flow is particularly helpful if you have been experiencing sadness,
Grief,
Perhaps it's even grown into depression.
It's also a really helpful flow during autumn.
So autumn is a time of purging.
I've brought some beautiful leaves in from the trees,
It's a little bit too cold for me to practice outside at the moment,
So I've brought the beauty inside of the trees.
I've brought some nature inside.
The trees during autumn show us how beautiful it can be to let things go.
So find a comfortable place and let's move some qi together.
So I'm coming back to my Wuji posture.
I've got my feet shoulder width apart and let's begin to relax and open the joints,
Softening the ankles,
The knees,
The hips,
The qua,
A little space under the arms and let's activate our Taiji pole,
This central channel of energy by lifting our pubic bone a little,
So tucking the tailbone under a little,
Tuck the chin under a little bit and bring your tongue to the roof of your mouth.
So you're lengthening through your spine.
Allow your breath to begin to settle and sink all the way down into your belly,
Your lower abdomen.
And our intention for practice together today is to release the past and accept the present.
Let's bring a smile to the face,
Smiling through the eyes and allow this smiling energy to connect you to your heart,
To that unconditional love in your heart.
So letting that unconditional love shine through your heart and gently turn your palms to face the earth.
Sink your energy down to the earth.
Let the earth support you,
This beautiful yin nourishing energy,
Feeling that through the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands.
And then on the next inhale,
Drawing your arms up to the heavens,
Exhale hands down through centre.
And again,
Gathering earth and heavenly chi and washing that down through your centre,
Breathing out through the mouth.
This is called drawing down the heavens.
So let's do one more together,
Drawing up the earth energy,
The heavenly energy and washing it down through your centre.
Coming back to our wuji posture and begin to turn from your waist,
Allowing your arms to knock over your body,
So your lower belly and your lower back.
This is called knocking on the door of life.
So at the lower back,
We have our ming men,
Our gate of life between our lumbar two and three,
And we're knocking on the door of life.
Vertebra.
So we're opening up this door of life,
Activating our chi,
Our energy flow for our practice together today.
And let's begin to bring the arms up a little higher and make some loose fists.
Let's knock on the lungs.
So we're breathing in through the nose,
Out through the mouth with a purging breath,
Three times together.
And then three tonifying breaths in through the nose,
Out through the nose.
And tonifying is nourishing.
So we're nourishing our lungs and our kidneys.
Our lungs are drawing in the chi,
The kidneys are holding and grasping the chi.
And then slowly let that unwind until we come to intentionally knock the front and the back.
And then both hands to the front.
Let's tap on our sea of chi,
Our sea of vitality and energy.
And let's say hello to some of our life-sustaining organs.
So tapping over to the right side.
Hello,
Liver.
Thank you for all that you do.
We've already tapped on our lungs earlier.
Let's come up to the heart in the centre of the chest.
Hello,
Heart.
Thank you for all that you do.
Down to the solar plexus,
The stomach and the spleen.
Hello,
Stomach and spleen.
Thank you for all that you do.
Let's come to our digestive system,
Our bladder.
Hello,
Bladder.
Large intestine around the outsides.
In the centre,
Our small intestine.
Waking up all these life-supporting organs,
Letting them know how much we appreciate them.
Thank you,
Organs.
Thank you very much.
Don't forget we had the kidneys at the back,
The lungs earlier.
And then let's come to stillness.
Take a little rebound.
Notice any tingling or warmth in the body,
That movement of energy,
And slowly begin to bounce.
So we're bouncing through the feet,
Through the body,
Bouncing through the arms,
The hands.
This is called shake the tree.
So again,
Just like those beautiful autumnal trees with their golds and their reds,
Letting the leaves shake.
And the beauty of it,
We're going to shake the tree,
Embody that tree.
So we're shake,
Shake,
Shaking,
And we're going to add some healing sounds.
So our first healing sound is for the lungs,
And it's again.
And for the kidneys,
Really shaking.
And the liver,
Shh,
Shh,
Like you're hushing a baby.
The heart,
And to balance it all together with our triple warmer.
Allow yourself to come back to stillness,
Noticing the tingles,
The buzzing,
Happy cells.
This is a powerful practice for cellular renewal.
So you might notice that buzzing through the cells,
Tingling,
Warmth.
Helped us to release stagnant energy and unhelpful emotions with the six healing sounds.
And now we're letting all that new clean energy flow through the body.
Let's come to massage our palms.
So right in the center of the palm is an acupoint pericardium eight called Lao Gong.
So we're going to massage in a circular motion with our thumb,
And then let's tap three times.
So one,
Two,
Three,
Swap sides,
Massaging the other center of the palm.
This point is called the key point to happiness,
And it also helps us to activate our healing hands,
Activate these powerful gates of energy here.
So knock three times,
Rub your palms together,
Activating this healing,
Warm energy,
And we're going to connect to the heart by tapping our activated fingers in the center of our chest here.
So either massaging or tapping right between,
If you were a kid,
In between the nipples,
As we get older,
The level of the nipples can change.
So you could really get in there and massage,
It can be a little tender sometimes,
With some purging breaths again.
And then let's come to our lung points.
So just below our collarbones here,
Again,
You could massage or you might prefer to tap,
Whatever feels better for you today.
Purging breaths again.
Again,
Helping release what no longer serves us,
Releasing the past,
Helping us to accept the new.
Bring your palms back in front of your chest.
Inhale,
Open the arms.
Exhale,
Bring the arms back together.
There's a little curve of the spine,
Breathing in,
We're slightly extending our spine,
Breathing out,
Flexing,
Curling the spine.
This is called prayer wings.
So as we inhale,
We're opening the lungs,
Stretching the lung and the heart meridian.
Exhale.
And again.
So one more,
This time we open wide.
And as we exhale,
We're wrapping our arms around ourselves,
Giving ourselves a beautiful self love hug.
So giving yourself a really good squeeze,
Rocking your spine a little side to side,
Giving yourself a little pat on the back,
Accepting and loving yourself for where you are right now.
Let's open again and swap the position of your arms.
So the opposite arm is on top this time,
Another beautiful self love hug.
Give yourself a really good squeeze.
Let yourself know how much you love yourself.
I love you.
Big breath in one more.
Breathing out.
One more really good squeeze.
Again,
Appreciating where you are in the present moment right now and how you got here.
All the people,
The lessons,
The trials you've had along the way.
And open wide again.
This time we're wiggling our thumbs.
Exhale,
Fold forward.
Arms come up behind you.
Slightly bend the knees as you inhale and pulse on your Chi ball.
So breathing in,
Open,
Wiggle the thumbs,
Breathing out,
Fold forward,
Wiggling the thumbs,
Breathing in,
Arms out to the side.
Exhale,
Pulse on your Chi ball.
Inhale,
Open.
This is called the lung meridian flow.
Exhale,
Fold forward.
Inhale up.
And again.
And fold forward.
Feel that stretch.
Inhale up.
Exhale,
Pulse.
So we're stretching our lung and our large intestine meridians and our Ren Mai and our Du Mai along the torso.
So again,
Inhale,
Open and wiggle your thumbs.
Exhale,
Fold forward.
Wiggle the thumbs.
Inhale as you bend the knees.
Expand and then pulse.
Last one.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Keep pulsing on your Chi ball here.
And we're going to come to full body breathing.
So really opening the pores in the skin.
Inhaling,
Open.
One more big full body breathing.
Bring your hands back to your Chi ball.
Feeling your Chi ball in front of your lower dantian here.
Pulsing on your Chi ball a little.
Let's inhale,
Hold the breath in,
Pulse three times.
Rotate your Chi ball.
And again,
Inhale,
Pulse three times.
Exhale,
Rotate.
Inhale,
Pulse three times.
Exhale,
Rotate.
Keep rotating your Chi ball here.
So we're refining our Chi,
Refining our energy.
And with this Chi ball,
Bringing it back to centre,
We're going to rotate,
Turning to the right with your torso,
Not your hips.
So exhale,
Back to centre.
Inhale,
Turn.
Exhale,
Centre.
Inhale,
Turn.
Exhale,
Back to centre.
So when we turn here,
When we twist,
There's a gentle squeeze to the stomach and the spleen.
The liver and the gallbladder.
Again,
Just turning as you inhale.
Exhale,
Centre.
One more rotation to the left.
And back to centre.
We've got our Chi ball here.
Turn your palms up.
Palms go forward.
Rotate your palms.
Draw your arms back.
So exhale,
Push forward.
Inhale,
Draw your arms back.
Spiral your wrists.
Exhale,
Palms up,
Push forward.
Inhale,
Draw the arms back.
So this is called swimming through the clouds.
And it cultivates inspiration and courage.
So you can see there's a slight sinking of the energy and then a rising,
Sinking down as you exhale.
Inhale,
Come up.
We're stimulating again the lung and large intestine meridians with that spiral motion of the wrist.
Allow the energy to flow through you.
Don't push or try too hard.
Last one here.
Inhale.
Exhale.
And then bring your palms back down to earth with you.
Take a little pause here.
Make sure you're grounded,
Still connecting the soles of your feet,
Your palms to the earth,
That nourishing yin energy.
And let's open our flow with Qi Shi.
So inhaling,
Arms up.
Exhaling,
The hands float back down.
Inhaling up.
Exhaling down.
Inhale,
Chi rises.
Exhale,
Chi falls.
So you're drawing that energy up through to the tips of your fingertips and then down.
So moving meditation.
And we're going to bring some yin and yang,
Some right and left into the flow.
So this time we're going to raise the right arm and then raise the left arm.
So there's a slight shift of your center of gravity.
This is called left and right yin yang.
So we're flowing.
It's a fluid movement.
And then both hands back to center,
Together,
Going to rise up,
Draw the right arm behind,
Palm up,
And sink the energy down.
The left side now.
Inhale,
The left arm up and around.
Palm up.
Sink down.
This is called Guan Yin draws a rainbow.
Again,
A slow fluid flow.
Inhale,
The arm up.
Exhale,
Down.
Inhale,
Palm up.
Exhale,
Both palms float down.
Inhale,
The arm around.
Exhale,
Down.
Inhale,
Palm up.
Exhale,
Both palms down.
And we flow again.
This is such a beautiful flow to help release grief.
And see the rainbow that comes.
That magic of the rainbow.
Exhale,
Down.
Inhale,
Palm up.
Exhale,
Both float down.
One more flow each side.
So as you inhale and the arm rotates,
You're looking behind you,
Releasing the past.
Disperse the chi up through center.
Sink your chest.
Open.
Rotate your wrists and come down to the earth.
Gather the earth chi.
Draw it up to your lungs.
Let that flow down.
Opening the flow again.
And disperse.
So this is the Yo Chi Metal flow.
Up through center.
Sink your chest as you exhale.
Inhale,
Expand.
Exhale,
Sink down to the earth.
Inhale,
Into the lungs.
A little pause here,
Then flow down.
And disperse and flow again.
So inhale up.
Exhale out.
Inhale,
Expand.
Rotate the wrists.
Exhale,
Down to the earth.
Inhale,
Into the lungs.
And down.
Inhale.
Exhale.
And flow again.
Up through center.
Exhale,
Sink the chest.
Inhale,
Expand.
Rotate the wrists as you exhale down to the earth,
Gathering the earth chi.
Pause and down.
So it can take a little while to get this flow,
But it's worth it when you do.
It's a powerful flow which involves alchemy for all five elements and their actions of chi.
It helps us to cultivate healthy boundaries and courage and the ability to forgive and let go.
When our metal element is balanced,
We are inspired,
Organized and full of vitality.
Inhale,
To the lungs.
A little pause here.
Exhale,
Down.
And so let's do one more flow,
Full Yo Chi Metal flow together.
So up through center.
Exhale,
Sink the chest.
Inhale,
Expand.
Exhale,
Down to the earth.
Inhale,
Up to the lungs.
This time,
Hold the posture here.
Holding all this beautiful balanced chi to the lungs.
And say,
I have the courage to let go of the past and live in the present moment.
Releasing the hands down.
One more full flow again with the Yo Chi Metal flow.
So big breath in,
Through center.
Exhale,
Sink the chest.
Inhale,
Expand.
Exhale,
Down to the earth.
Inhale,
Up to the lungs.
Release.
From here,
We inhale and cross the arms.
Open.
So inhale,
Cross through center.
Exhale,
Open.
You can alternate the cross of the palms if you'd like.
So inhale,
Exhale.
This is the protection flow.
So we are strengthening our Wei Chi and our aura with this flow.
There's a slight rising and falling.
And one more flow together.
And then the next time we're going to pause at center,
Palms face out.
This is Svasti Mudra.
And we can set an intention here as well by saying,
I am protected.
Feeling your Wei Chi and your aura strengthening,
Protected,
Protecting you.
One more breath here.
Sinking the breath down into the abdomen.
Expanding this protective energy.
And we inhale,
Open.
And exhale,
Back to earth Wei Chi.
And let's integrate all this beautiful energy that we have cultivated and released together today with dragon rises from the earth.
Inhale,
One arm comes up through center.
Gather the heavenly chi and draw it down.
Wash down through your body.
Swapping hands.
Inhale up.
Gather.
Exhale down.
Again.
Gather.
Exhale down.
So again,
There's a slight rising as you inhale.
Exhale down.
One more each side with individual arms.
And down.
The left.
Beautiful.
And together now,
Disperse.
Inhale up through center together.
Gather the heavenly chi,
Washing it down through your body.
Disperse and flow again.
Inhale up.
Gather heavenly chi,
Washing down through center.
Disperse.
And again.
Inhale up.
Gather the heavenly chi of the sun,
The stars,
The moon.
Let's flow one more.
Big breath in.
Gather.
Down.
Holding your earth Wei Chi posture again.
And again.
One more cultivation of this beautiful chi.
A big inhale.
Open the arms wide and draw all that integrated energy into your lower Dan Tien.
Left hand resting on your abdomen.
Right hand on top.
If you're a female,
That feels comfortable.
A male,
It's right hand with left hand on top.
Gently draw your feet together.
Release all efforts.
Allow yourself to rock and sway.
Just like bamboo in the wind.
Allowing the chi to flow wherever it needs to go.
Gently bringing your palms together in front of your heart.
Let's share the Yo Chi blessing together.
I am in the universe.
The universe is in me.
I am blessed and filled with chi.
May all beings be well and happy.
May all beings be free.
May all beings be blessed and filled with chi.
Thank you for joining me.
