Take a breath,
Allow yourself to begin to dive towards the depths of your feelings.
Breathe in and with each exhalation allow yourself to slowly go deeper and deeper into your own emotional well.
As you breathe in,
Notice that there is a gentle light glowing from your heart.
Breathe in,
Exhaling through your mouth,
Give your heart permission to glow a little brighter.
Breathing again and allowing your heart's light to glow brighter still.
As you continue to dive deeper and deeper into your own emotional water,
Notice what emotions and fears begin to be revealed by the light of self-love emanating from your heart.
Continue to breathe and allow your awareness to slowly take in the emotions that flow around and through you.
Be curious about them.
As your heart's light gets brighter,
What do the other emotions feel like?
What do they look like?
Are they hard or soft?
Do they have colors?
Do they have weight to them?
Continue to breathe and as your heart's glow shines more brightly,
Notice how it warms you from inside and gently encourages you to honor the hunger for love that lives within.
Notice the strength of the longing for love as you allow yourself to sink deeper into your own emotional water.
Let that longing be a light,
Illuminating the shadows surrounding your fears and hesitations.
Notice how your heart's desire for love shifts and transforms that what was once hidden in the shadows.
Breathe in and on the next exhalation,
Slowly begin to drift up from the depths of your emotional waters.
Allow any feelings that have been illuminated to drift with you slowly towards the surface.
Continue to breathe gently,
Slowly,
Slowly.
Let your breath lead you up towards the surface again,
Bringing with you whatever you may have discovered in the depths of your emotional waters.
As you feel yourself emerge from the deep,
Deep emotional well,
Breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Breathe in again and notice which emotions followed you to the surface of your mind.
Allow them to gently swirl about you.
Notice how even that which felt overwhelming or frightening in the darkness at the bottom of your emotional water is now manageable and gently floating nearby.
Breathe in.
Notice how your heart continues to glow warm and bright from within.
Notice how this warm glow continues to shed light on whatever may have surfaced.
Thank your heart for its clarifying light.
Continue to breathe and thank your heart for its courage to look closely at the feelings and desires that had been hidden in the depths of your emotional water.
Continue to breathe.
Thank your heart for allowing these longings to rise to the surface where you can examine and attend to them with tenderness and self-compassion rather than fear or confusion.
Breathe in.
Notice how your breath connects you to your heart.
On the next inhalation,
Listen to your breath as you breathe out through your mouth.
Breathe again and listen for your heart.
Allow the message that has bubbled to the surface of your heart to fill you as you inhale.
As you exhale,
Release the fears and confusion that once held you back from diving deeper.
Continue to breathe.
Feel your heart continue to fill with warmth and courage.
Breathe in again.
Continue to allow your heart to fill you with its message and its warmth.
When you feel that you are completely full,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the ground that supports you.
Notice the sounds outside of your body again.
Gently bring your awareness back to this time and space and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Remember the gentle embrace of your deep emotional waters and the warmth of your heart's glow.
Allow your breath to reconnect you to your heart's light and return to this meditation as often as needed.
