People on this planet currently spend an average of about 2,5 hours a day on social media.
This easiliy constitutes an attention-sucking mental 'pandemic', and many of us are addicted.
This course will give practical tips on how to manage the addictive behavior from day 1, using insights from sources that work, in this case: neuroscience, NVC (Nonviolent Communication), tantra and mindfulness.
We'll be both brief and deep, as we shed the light of understanding--'cognitive' as well as 'empathic' understanding--on our motivations, drives, mental habits, influences, feelings & needs, and behavioral patterns. This way, we can move the needle permanently towards presence, choice and empowerment in our lives, and away from socia lemdia addiction.
We will use several processess from the framework of Nonviolent / Mindful Communication, operationalize insights I gleaned from the likes of Andrew Holocek's insightful book 'Reverse Meditation', and utilize scientific insights from the likes of neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman and Dr. Cal Newport.

Lección 1
Connecting Strongly With Our Intentions
In this first session, we will make contact with and strengthen our intention to stop our unhelpful social media behavior. I will also outline the general context of our current social media world, for context and inspiration, as well as give a brief explanation of the neuroscience involved in social media addiction.
Also, I'd like to invite you to write in a post your personal goal for this course!
Lección 2
The Empathic Approach To Quitting
In session 2, I will briefly explain the theory of Internal Family Systems (IFS) according to the 'Aletheia' approach, and focus in on its counterpart in Nonviolent Communication (NVC). From NVC we will then borrow a powerful process to grow inner peace around our possibly conflicted stance towards social media use.
I again invite you to post your experience report in a post in the classroom!
Lección 3
Transforming The Discomfort Behind The Addiction
'Dukkha', the 'unsatisfactoriness' behind social media addiction, needs to be dealt with, in order for our process to have grit.
Therefore, in this last session, I give a quick introduction of tantric 'discomfort practice' as well as Andrew Holocek's transformative approach towards suffering, called 'reverse meditation'.
I hope you enjoy this session, and would love to read about your progress in a comment!

This course was deeply insightful. It gave me understanding of why I have turned to social media so much in recent months, and the answers I uncovered helped me understand more about my deeper needs and emotions.
Hans offered support and encouragement each step of the way, which helped me to focus and complete the course. Each lesson has a different perspective to offer and builds upon the previous ones. This course encourages gentle self-reflection in order to take the first steps to overcome the addiction to social media. I highly recommend!...
