Introduction to Meditation

In this section we will define what meditation is, setting the groundwork for the rest of the course.
Lección 2
Beginning to Meditate: Focusing on Breath
It's time to begin our practice. One of the simplest and most profound ways to meditate is by focusing on the breath. The breath is a natural anchor that grounds us in the present moment. It's always with us, continuously flowing in and out, a silent testament to the miracle of life unfolding within us.
Lección 3
Expanding Awareness: Body and Surroundings
After familiarizing ourselves with the foundational practice of focusing on the breath, it's time to expand our meditation practice. This expansion involves bringing our awareness to our physical body and our surroundings. By doing so, we enhance our capacity for mindfulness and deepen our sense of presence.
Lección 4
Dealing with Thoughts and Emotions
As we continue our journey into meditation, we will inevitably encounter waves of thoughts and emotions. This is completely normal and, in fact, an essential part of the process. Many people believe that meditation is about silencing the mind or eliminating emotions, but this is a misconception. Meditation is not about stopping thoughts and emotions but learning to observe them without judgment or identification.
