Have you ever heard messages like "you lack personal power" or "you can’t trust yourself" and felt a flinch inside? Our bodies filter for inaccurate information; information that’s not aligned with the essence of who we are. If you feel cringe when you hear something, it’s a good idea to pause and investigate. Trust yourself.

There came a point in my development where I had to find what was true for me. It aligned sometimes and didn’t align other times with the words written so many generations ago by Bill W and the old timers. But mostly everything I needed to build my life from the total mayhem I found on the steps. I was not dogmatic and was fortunate to get sober in a small town with a big name full of writers, artists, and musicians where “ God gave us brains to use” was widely practiced by the wiser elders who were my mentors. In 1982 before businessmen began selling sobriety in treatment centers people gave me their numbers. There were four meetings a week; a big book study, a 12 x 12, a participation meeting and a Speaker meeting. The dogma of studying the books like the Bible didn’t work for me but I didn’t fight them either. At the small intimate book studies could interrupt between paragraphs and say Sadie alcoholic and talk about what was just read. Often in disagreement or utter cluelessness in what we were reading, or how to “do” it or “allow” it. My son chose to explore Judaism in his high school to learn about his “Jewish half” and I learned that the Hebrew word Y’israel or son of Israel also means he who struggles with God. I’m so grateful to you for questioning, exploring and sharing this course with me and for your 11th step practice which has become my guided meditation and my 11th step practice, which I often listen to first thing in morning. 🙏🩵 Namaste...

Much needed perspective in this course. I spent many years in Al-Anon and ACOA, and was an addiction treatment center nurse for almost 5 years. I deeply appreciate the value of the 12 steps and how it can be a life-raft for people trying to find a better way of life. But I have also seen how it can keep some folks stuck. For me, I am deeply grateful for that life raft but needed to get off on the other side to continue to grow. I have concerns when some folks turn it into a houseboat and permanent residence. Thanks for sharing your insight and experience. 🙏🏻☯️🌸...

Thank you for this course! I am 13 years sober and I am committed to maintaining my sobriety.
Nothing good will ever come from me picking up a drink. You have given me new tools to aid in this endeavor and I am grateful. Namaste 🙏💗

Great! This course is like a systematic application of loving kindness in two processes: being responsible for your life (it’s ok to be me, it’s great to be me); and healing. Do it with a curious mind, an open heart.

I found this workshop/course to be empowering. It was the medicine my soul and intellect were requesting, and it came right in time. Thank you.

This was a powerful and thought provoking course. The meditations were excellent and empowering. The topics of discussion were, as I said, thought provoking. As an addition counselor I have been using some of the topics while running groups and the conversations have been powerful. I recommend this course to anyone who has been in the rooms for a little bit and may be feeling complacent....

Thank you for this! After many years of sitting in rooms of recovery I’ve stepped away from the meetings because of some of the things mentioned in this course.
Although, I believe AA, NA and other groups are definitely helpful and probably necessary for some, there are certainly other ways of being joyful and at peace while living clean and sober.
May all those that seek find!
Blessings...
