Not only will we cover a different affirmation subject each day, but we will also look at how we can make those affirmations work best for you. We will learn a multitude of tools for you to have in your affirmation toolbox, including how to connect emotions, creating from the conscious mind through the art of allowing, understanding happiness and joy, and much more. This will be imparted to you partly through beautiful stories from my life and also evidence-based information to bring you inspiration to your affirmation practice.

Lección 1
Gratitude
For the majority of us during the first seven years of life, the patterns installed into our subconscious minds will have around a 70% negative bias. The origin of this was to keep us safe and help us see the danger before it became a problem, but our lives are very different now and those dangers are less and less frequent. By directing our thoughts onto gratitude affirmations we are trying to redress the balance of the negative bias, and gratitude has such an amazing and beautiful way of taking us out of negative thinking loops. Not only that we will look at how to use emotions to really create the mind-body memory so that our affirmations gain their real power. I would also strongly advise everyone to keep some form of a daily gratitude journal, even if it is for something small. When you create a gratitude journal, you are in fact creating gratitude affirmations for you to read when you need to break a negative loop in your mind written in your language. How powerful is that?
Lección 2
Emotions
Emotions are the magnet of your affirmations, and here, we often miss an opportunity to really get in on the act. In one sense, you could say you are going to ‘fake till you make it’. But that faking it will allow you to connect with a situation or circumstances that make you feel happy or connected with love. And it's that emotional aspect that draws your affirmations into your reality. In today’s practice, you are going to listen to affirmations and you are also going to be your own motivational speaker, telling yourself how happy you feel, or excited, or how loved you feel. This connects that body and mind memory. You also need to remember to smile because when you smile, you automatically release the hormones serotonin and dopamine, which bring you the emotion of happiness and joy. If you are able to be a motivational speaker while keeping an ear on the affirmations, then you can build on your emotional state as you go through the affirmations. This could be something you can try with some affirmations that you have listened to a number of times before. When you get this technique right, you will know because it is like a beautiful emotional energy, waiting to burst through with pure joy.
Lección 3
Time & Motivation
We all have thoughts that we recycle. We could even call them mantras, and for the most part, they are just churning in our heads and we do not pay much attention to them. Why does this happen? When we think in our conscious mind, our subconscious patterns gain control of the creating. Most of our subconscious patterns are installed before the age of seven because before that time, our brains are running at theta frequencies (the same as hypnosis). This helps us in a way, for example, when we learn to walk we remember automatically as it is stored in our subconscious minds. If it was stored in our conscious mind, we would have to learn it every day. This subconscious patterning can then create mantras or affirmations that we repeat in our conscious minds without being aware that we are doing it. My Dad who is 80 years old, has a mantra ‘getting there slowly’, and that’s exactly what happens. He does everything slowly because he has affirmed it so much that it then has become his reality. What happens in this reality is that you find problems in whatever it is you're trying to achieve, which in turn, means that it takes longer for you to complete what it is you're doing. If you change that mantra to ‘things always flow with ease’, or ‘I always have enough time to do the things I want’, you will end up having the time to complete the things you need to do. It is amazing how much this changed my life. Today’s affirmations are for time and motivation and being able to create the space you need along with that drive to keep it up with those affirmations to manifest a different reality.
Lección 4
Health & Wellbeing
Our health and well-being is so important, and yet we have created a mindset that we do not need to worry about our health until we are ill. This shouldn’t be the case. I am not saying we shouldn’t be proactive about our health, but in our minds, we need to be positive about our health. I always tell people that I never get ill, and well would you believe it, I never get ill. In the two years of covid 19, I have traveled to five different countries, spending more than a year outside of the UK. In those two years, all I had was a slight temperature for 36 hours while in Nicaragua, Central America, and its all because ‘I never get ill’. Take the research of Dr. Bruce Lipton and epigenetics, through his research, he has found that even a child adopted into a family can get a genetic illness that runs in the adoptive family. This goes to show that genes can be turned on and off depending on your environment. With this in mind, we are going to use affirmations to build on your health and well-being so that you power to think differently about your health and your well-being.
Lección 5
Confidence
Confidence can be a major issue for many of us. Even I suffered too with a lack of confidence for a large part of my life. I always found an excuse as to why I couldn’t do something, often settling for something as it seemed like the easy option, but it always lay there under the surface, why? Why? Why? Now, I still come up against things that I don’t feel that confident about doing. When I started to produce meditations for Insight Timer nine months ago, I struggled to listen to my own voice. Even writing this course, I kept telling myself that I couldn’t do it, I didn’t have the skill or the information. Sure enough, I spent almost two days blank, every time I came to write, nothing. I knew I had to change my thinking. I gently kept telling myself, ‘don’t worry the answers will come’, and ‘you can do this’. Sure enough, the course started to flow. Yes, I still found little pieces of resistance, but I kept telling myself that I could do it. What is incredible is once you have practiced the affirmations, it can be easy to open up to them and repeat a few back to yourself just to get you back on track.
Lección 6
Optimism & Faith
Having faith and optimism can carry you a long way. Nelson Mandela once said, “I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward.” With today’s affirmations, we will create the opportunity to invite in that optimistic nature. When I found myself in a position where everything seemed against me, I have always been able to dig deep and find the faith and optimism to carry on. It must have been something that I picked up as a child, and I cannot tell you why or how I always could achieve things that most people would find were physically out of their reach. For myself, I had the faith and optimism that I could climb any mountain or walk across any country, but I didn’t have faith and optimism to do many other things in my life. What was news to me was the fact that if you have the faith and optimism to do one thing, you have it for anything, all you need to do is re-frame your thinking. Everyone has the determination to do something in their life, maybe it was to have children, or get married, maybe it was to get a certain job, run a marathon, or own a particular car. Whatever it was you that had the determination, faith, and optimism to achieve, it is now time to redirect that into something else, and this is what today’s affirmations are for. We will reconnect and redirect your faith and optimism into a new or existing area of your life bringing new momentum into fruition.
Lección 7
Self-Love
Love yourself and find love for others too. Today, let us understand unconditional love for a moment, and then, we will be able to fully connect with self-love on a deeper level. Unconditional love is something that we share. Imagine for a moment that your heart is full of unconditional love. To share that unconditional love, you wouldn’t take a piece of your heart to share. Otherwise, you could end up with no heart and that would lead to all kinds of resentment. Instead, you would duplicate the unconditional love in your heart and share the duplicate. And because it is a duplicate, you don’t need it back and you can’t run out. With this in mind, we should understand that self-love is something that never disappears. We may occasionally forget that it is there, but it is always there waiting for us to rediscover it again. Today’s affirmations are for just that, reconnecting and rediscovering what has always and will always be there, just waiting for you. Whatever your reason for disconnecting doesn’t matter and although it has felt as though it was lost, today, you are going to connect fully and integrate self-love back into your life.

Happiness
Happiness is an inside job, and we are all capable of happiness. I spent many years of my life blaming others for my happiness, or lack thereof, and I am sure what I am about to say will ring true for many of us if only in the past. "I will be able to be more positive when I am away from those people." "I will be happy when I have money." "I will be so glad to leave this job; it's making me depressed." These statements seem like they are true, but are they? No, they are not true. This may be a hard pill to swallow and I get it. I can’t tell you how many years I sat with those thoughts in my head. But the truth is your happiness depends on you, not a job, not a person, not a situation. I have traveled to many countries around the world. The one thing that is always constant is you, and your mind. You can not get away from it, and while sometimes, you will find that you are able to drop into the Now while traveling, or be distracted. But when you are not in the moment, you are still there… possibly making excuses as to why you’re not happy. Today is a new day, and whenever you find you are not feeling happy, then you’re going to take three deep belly breaths, smile, and tell yourself how happy you're feeling. These affirmations will help you connect any time to your happiness, and help you understand that even if you have witnessed a negative situation, you can break away from that and bring yourself back to your happy place.
Lección 9
Abundance & Gratitude
Having abundance in your life is such a joy and something we should be grateful for. Abundance can come in many forms and is not just wealth. In 2015, I went on another one of my walks. On this particular walk, I was in England and didn’t have a lot of money so I wild camped every night. After each week, I decided to keep extending for another week. I ran out of food, but I decided to keep walking. And for a day and a half, I walked without food, with my mood becoming lower as I progressed. After my second hungry night with dreams of food, I awoke feeling down, but I knew I had to change my mood. So I told myself that I didn’t know what was going to happen, I told myself that I had achieved so much and I had nothing left to prove and that I should be happy, and that I should be grateful that I have the strength to carry on. I set off that morning heading for the town of Eastbourne, and it dawned on me that I should visit a Buddhist monastery. Not five minutes after that, I saw some scouts walking toward me. They stopped and did something in their bags and carried on. Those boys never knew how much the gift they left for me meant. There, where they had stopped was a bag of chocolate ‘lucky stars’. The magic didn’t stop there. Later that day, when I got to Eastbourne, I went to the library and searched for the closest Buddhist monastery. There on the website, they were looking for a live-in maintenance man for a year, and so I applied right away. I tell this story because the moment I stopped feeling sorry for myself and my situation it changed my luck in a big way. Today, we are going to empower you with that same attitude of connecting with your abundance and gratitude with these amazing affirmations.
Lección 10
The Art Of Allowing
The art of allowing is a great affirmation trick to learn. And quite often, when we move from affirmations, we are off to do whatever is next on our list. Stop! Even for just a moment, as you have completed your affirmations and placed your order with your mind and the universe, now is the time to allow. By allowing, being in the present moment, or resting the conscious mind, we are tapping into the potential of your creative mind. When the conscious mind is thinking, the subconscious mind is the creator from our learned patterns. When you bring the conscious mind to be in the present moment, then you allow the universe to bring forth what it is you have been calling for in your affirmations, you could call it the art of cosmic connecting. In this practice, we will use our affirmations to make it easier to tap into the creative, allowing the mind, if even for a moment. Built onto the end of the affirmation practice are a few simple practices for bringing you into the present moment helping you connect with the art of allowing. One last word to the wise, no matter how far down the road you have traveled, you will often miss how far you have come. Once in a while, stand back and look at your life and appreciate the wonderful journey you are taking. Remember, an artist cannot see their masterpiece while using their paintbrush.
